On Saturday, November 8, Heritage Auctions is selling four timepieces possibly owned by President Harry S. Truman: an engraved Movado religious coin watch, a Baylor presented to President Truman in Texas, a gold-plated Vulcain Cricket, and a steel Longines. While we can say with confidence that the Movado and Baylor were Truman's, I don't believe we can be certain on the other two. Why?Back in February, Doyle New York auctioned some jewelry from the estate of Margaret Truman Daniel, the only child of President Harry S. Truman and First Lady Bess Truman. The items in the sale seemed to stay under-the-radar and someone cleaned up and got a great deal on a number of lots. Opinions on Schumaker 3810.12
High, looking at buying a second hand Schumaker in great condition. I own a nice seamaster and have wanted a Speedy for a while. I've decided I can't afford the Professional so I've decided this one could be the one for me, and probably contrary to most people I like the yellow dial. What I'm not sure about is the size of the watch. I see it quoted as 39mm body and I saw a reference somewhere as the same as the reduced model. I guess what I'm asking is what is the difference in size between a proffessional, an automatic and a reduced? Are they three different sizes and where does the Schumaker fit in? Is it considered a collectable or sought after model or a lesser oddity. I have no qualms at the price at $1200US as long as I would be likely to get most of my money back if I sell it down the track. Even though it doesn't come with box or papers it is in mint condition and from a reputable watch maker.Opinions appreciated.

Dear Watch lovers,After some research and homework that I have done I decided that my choice must be an automatic golden case watch with in-house movement.If I am not wrong, all the watches below are according to my requirements:I would like to hear your opinion about the next issues: Can you rank those watches as per their movements quality / level / reliability ??? How about ranking the brands ? Which are more or less prestigious ? Which from them per your opinion will still be valuable and an precious present to son or grandson after 20-40 years ??? Omega Seamaster case back with a Speedmaster Dial
Hi Omega friends, I was hoping some of you Omega experts can tell me if Omega ever made a Speedmaster with a Seamaster caseback. The dial says Omega Automatic Speedmaster and the case back has the Seamaster Waterproof. The movement number is 491 the serial number is 15690493 and inside the case back reads 2857-2856 then underneath it has 1-SC. Can anyone tell me about this watch?Please and thank you!Greg
