Help needed on tritium
Hi Friends,As some already know I have just acquired a Rolex Gmt Master II.The model was produced in 1996 (T series), before superluminova was used; in this case tritium was used. I expected it to still light up a bit, since I read somewhere that the half life of tritium is 12.3 years. However, there is absolutely no glow whatsover on the markers.Any idea as to why there is no more glow? Lume isn't really that important to me unless I'd be trapped somewhere in the dark of night, but it is comforting to know that there is some.Any tritium owners or anyone knowledgeable who could care to shed light on this? It's been bugging me quite a bit (just a little though). If the watch is 13 years old there should be some kind of glow, shouldn't there?Kind regardsClarence

Watches and 'girly-wrist watches'.
I got this idea from another thread where someone remarked that a Cartier Blue was "girly" As a philosopher, it made me think. I think it is a very good topic.I think what was meant here by "girly" is 'lacking in maleness.' Let's say that is our working definition.I do think that many men wear certain watches to 'project maleness.' And I think we could agree on many watches that do this.I've never been one to worry much about 'maleness.' I've always noticed people like Ringo Starr who wore a ring on every finger. Some would say that this is not a projection of 'maleness.' But Ringo is married to Barbara Bach - maybe one of the hottest playmates of all time and a 'Bond girl.' So, I guess he was 'male' after all. I've always considered myself 'flamboyant'. I was a sports star when young - including football where I played offense and defense and special teams to the point that I never sat on the bench, so probably no one who knew me would have thought I lacked 'maleness.' 5196g or 5296g?
I currently have a 5146g (cream dial) and 5167. I'm looking for a smart, formal, work/ wear with a suit watch.I did have a 5196g (that's a pic of mine below) but traded it for the ac.I like the classic look of the 5196, the clean dial but I did worry it was a little too thin. Then again that was when I didn't have the option of turning to my 5146.On the other hand the size and thickness of the 5296 is perfect, I like the sector dial but not sure if it takes it away from being a dress/ formal watch. Also I'm not sure about the date window, in fact if they'd left it out I think this would be an easier decision to make.What do you guys think? Any more pics welcome.

Hi guys , My oysterflex is little loose in the winter. The watch flops around a little. It¡¯s snug during the summer. The micro adjustment is set to the tightest. Should I have it size such that I can adjust the micro adjustment tight in the winter and loosen it during the summer.
