IWC 1868 wrist watches news:
Patrizzi & Co Auctioneers held its first New York City auction on June 4. The sale included 293 timepieces. Seventy-three percent of the lots sold for a total of more than $2,707,150. More than 50 bidders were present in the auction room, and online bidders participated from Italy, Switzerland, Macao, Portugal, Japan, Dubai, and across the U.S. “We¡¯re finding collectors are interested in buying at auction but are more selective in the current economic climate,” said Osvaldo Patrizzi, chairman and chief executive officer of Patrizzi & Co. “Sport watches, particularly from Rolex and Omega, performed well, as did pocket watches and clocks. Some timepieces sold for three to four times their estimate.”Patek Philippe secured the top three places in the sale, with a Ref. 5959P split-seconds chronograph bringing the top price at $260,000. A yellow gold automatic winding Ref. 3448 with phases of the moon, month day, date, made in 1971, brought $125,000. Close beh
It looks like you have to have permissions to add a Signature, Avatar, animated GIF's or IMG tags. Will these functions & permissions be automatically granted to all members once we go live? Otherwise, I see a huge admin task for you John adding all the permissions to do it as people are gonna want them is this just a limitation because it's still in test mode?
I read a lot of comments on here from people saying that they would not have an AP for their daily watch. I see it a lot for Royal Oaks (which I am particularly interested). Is this solely based on the fact that the finishes are so perfectly executed and the bezels are subject to being easily scratched? I mean if you didn¡¯t care how much the watch got scratched would you still not use it daily? I guess I am just trying to figure out the basis of this statement. I have a Sub-C. I wear it everywhere and anywhere not worrying about scratches. I want a ROO Diver. I have gotten advice in the past on here telling me to keep the Sub cause I wouldn¡¯t want to use the AP daily¡then what is the point??Does anyone wear their AP RO all day, everyday? Anyone have pics of a daily worn AP¡scratches and all???
Hey Guys,I took a few photos of my new Jumbo that are much better than what I originally posted. There is still a little plastic on the watch that I need to remove. The dial is really beautiful and looks different under different lighting conditions. Hope you enjoy them.Best regards,Dino
So... after debating and deciding... I pulled the trigger. The wife was on board, so thats always a good sign.
