Can anyone determine my watches authenticity?
Hello all, new to the forum, and have very little knowledge about time pieces, especially in regards to a Rolex.My parents gave me a Rolex earlier today that belonged to my Grandfather. The watch was given to him some years ago from a friend in Texas. However, I have no idea if it is the real thing, or a knockoff. If I were to post pictures, would you guys be able to determine the authenticity of the watch and potentially know some details about its approximate age, etc.?Thanks in advance.

Hello guys. Just found this awesome little place yesterday.I was hoping you guys could give me some recommendations on watches I should look into. Here's a brief background.I'm 6'1", 200lbs, white. I'll turn 30 years old at the beginning of July. I will also graduate from Law School around that date. I feel I deserve a reward. I've never owned a good watch.A couple of days ago I bought two watches: a Tissot-Steel-Chronograph-Brown-T36-1-316-72 for $250 photo: Amazonand a: Citizen Men's BT0000-07E Eco-Drive Calibre 3100 Twin Date which retails for $295 and I got for $199 shipped. photo: AmazonI am now looking to buy an everyday watch that I can wear with a suit (which I'll probably be wearing everyday soon) and also with casual clothes.Economic SituationRight now I have a couple of thousand dollars saved up, but I realize I will soon be spending money on other stuff, like 4-5 new suits, clothes, shoes, etc. Those can wait, though, since I'll be studying for the bar for 3 months befo

Andromeda673 mentioned in another thread that he catches the salesperson looking at what is on his wrist as if to take me serious or not and it reminded me of what happened last week. Remember I am still new to the watch collecting but I was a little surprised and angry when I took my wifes Rolex and my Omega PO to get them sized last week. I have taken all of my watches to this particular jewerly store to have them sized. 3 they did for free and the rest they charged me 5 dollars per link. Well when I went in with these 2 watches they charged me $60 to have 1 link removed from the Rolex and $40 to have 3 removed from the Omega. I really could not believe it especially since I have been there on 3 other occasions and walked away happy for the cost of a Pizza. I did not raise a stink although I am wondering if I should have. My question is should I expect to pay alot more money for a simple procedure like having links removed if the watch is expensive or did I get hosed. I understa
