IWC IW371808 wrist watches news:
Hello allJust wondering if anyone has delt with [non WTF Sponsor link removed]? If so are there watches 100% untouched (seriel numbers correct), with all the paperwork? Also Im in the UK, could I take the watch to a UK Rolex dealer to have warrenty work done?Any help would be very welcome. All the best.
Picked this up todat at the pre increase price in the UK.What do you guy's think?Steve
You know, this one...I gotta say, it was very nice. The black lacquer dial is absolutely gorgeous & the black bezel supplements it perfectly. Take the start black & add the bright red and it's absolutely great looking. I'll be looking forward to the non-LE version coming out. While it's all very nice, there is 2 complaints. First, the glare off the crystal if fierce. One of the worst glares I've seen, and it had an AR coating. Though the AR is underside only - no topcoat. makes me wonder what it would be like without any AR coating. And second, the applied logo & 'Omega" are virtually invisible against the black background. IMO a start white logo would have looked very nice. Especially as the hour markers are all pure white. As easy to fix as those 2 things are, the watch still looks like a winner. If you like pure, crisp black dials, this will be a watch for you.
Here are some after shots of my Grandfather's Gruen. I don't have any info, so if anyone does please chime in. I found this at my Grandmother's house after she passed away in Sept. My father told me he remembered it and that it had been broken for a long time and my Grandfather was told it would cost more than the watch was worth to fix. Concidering that my Grandfather died in 1977, I really don't know how long it was out of service. The crown was broken and the crystal was almost too scratched to see the dial, but the movement still worked. So here it is with a new crystal and crown and the movement was serviced.
After seeing this watch in person with the opportunity to try it on my wrist, I love this watch. Has anyone here purchased it and if so what is your overall opinion. What kind of time keeping accuracy are you getting? What price did you pay for a leather or stainless band?
