IWC IW371701 wrist watches news:
This rapid frequency allows the chronograph function to save independent intervals of time at 1/8th of a second. Each of these movements has obtained a certificate of chronometer of official control Switzerland of the stopwatches (COSC), after the object and passing of 15 days of specific tests for accuracy by a range of positional and temperature variations.
I own a vintage (c. late 1940s, I think) Omega pocket watch. It used to belong to my grandfather, who used to work for NSW State Railways. The watch was issued to all of the workers, I think. On the back is engraved "G.R. 10003". It still keeps time perfectly, which is incredible, in my opinion. It looks like it has been patched up many times with various things. My question is, is it worth getting restored? Could it be restored?Omega Pocket Watch.jpg
I figure there must be a few Swatch watches kicking about these parts. Recently, (last night, for a couple of hours ) I became enamored with Swatches, so I picked this one off Ebay. 1992 model, apparently. I've never had a Swatch before, and that seemed reason enough to buy one .
As some of you might know, JLC and I share a ¡®special¡¯ relationship. I picked this one up from a nice gentlemen on a sales forum on another website and I just received it in the mail today. I wanted something very simple, thin and versatile enough to throw on without much thought. I recently purchased a Rolex DJ, which covered those bases, but Rolex just isn¡¯t for me. It was a toss up between this and a BP Leman Big Date and well, the JLC won (for obvious reasons). Here is a wrist shot with a horrible camera. I have it on a Blue JLC strap which I think works well for causal settings but I have the original brown strap for more formal occasions.
I'll let the pictures do the talking but also want to say thank you for all the inspirational threads and pictures that helped with my decision. And, once again, thanks to George at Govberg for making it so easy. I think I'm done for awhile!
