Seamaster pro - quartz or automatic
Gentlemen, I have finally given up any resistence from buying an Omega Seamaster pro. I've been eyeing this watch since Golden eye . So after weeks of contemplating between new or pre-owned, I have now come to the decision to buy a new one (mainly for warranty and peace of mind) Now another dilemna - quartz or auto? I intend this to be my regular watch, and does not intend to buy for investment or collection. So Im leaning towards the quartz because it is around usd800 cheaper (I live in the Philippines) BUT my friend keeps telling me that the sophistication of an automatic watch makes the price all worth itSo before I take the plunge, it would really help to know what you guys think. Your opinions will be highly appreciated. TIA!

Hey guys, it's now my 1,001st post here on WTF, so I thought why not do a post asking what else you all collect besides your lovely watches?Well I posted this on the General forum and wanted to also post the thread here in case any of you dont check the other forums. Repairing Chinese Automatics
Several years ago I discovered Ebay. Long story short, I went on a seemingly high value-for-money spree which has now left me with two watches in need of repair: one is Dodo-Dead and the other loses two hours every minute (seriously!). Not a single UK establishment of any kind will touch them: "unavailability of spare parts" and "not cost-effective" are just two soundbytes I've come to abhor. It's a watch. Probably one gear loose causing all this grief! They refuse to even take a look. What to do everybody? Give in to this punishment for my rash purchases, or is there a way to get them fixedCheers.

2 New Straps for 2 Classic Watches
The summer months are always rough because my wrists sweat and the metal bracelets on my watches get glued to my skin. I decided to try out a few new straps so I could loosen my watches throughout the day. I bought the Hirsch Liberty in brown for the Speedmaster. Always thought brown straps looked great with the Speedmaster. Wanted to go with something other than a Medici It is a calf leather strap treated with natural oils. I hear it can develop a nice patina like the Medici. I particularly like the stitching. It was very soft out of the packaging and does not need a break-in period. Only negative is that it is fairly thick and looks thick on the bottom with a thin wrist like mine.Second is a strap from Bradystraps. Sailcloth pattern in leather, but it is good in the water according to the manufacturer. I chose red stitching to go with the red accent on the second hand. It is a great micro texture but does require some break-in as it is fairly rigid. The buckle is a large brushed sta
