Any way to trade a BNIB IWC?
Hi all -I received a black dial IWC Portuguese Auto as a gift from the parents who purchased the watch from an AD while they were on vacation outside the US. Unfortunately, I really wanted the silver dial, and there's no way for me to exchange it with the store from which it was purchased at this point. While I am certainly grateful, does anyone have any ideas how I can do some sort of exchange for the silver dial? I've posted on the appropriate subfora of timezone and watchnet seeking a trade, but not too hopeful. I'm wondering if there is anything else i can do at this point perhaps with more local IWC ADs. The watch is BNIB with hang tag still attached, and I have held off wearing the watch in the event I can exchange it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Don't get me wrong, the black is wonderful too, but I do like the silver dial a bit more.

The Kings Bling
Saw on the news today that Elvis's watch goes up for auction and is expected to take $9000.00. I'm thinking that may be a bit conservative, especially after what was paid for Mr. Claptons ticker. I know the watches are probably not in the same league, but to own the Kings Rolex would be certainly something to tell the guys a the next GTG.

ETA may be doomed
France captured the leader of the Basque terrorist group ETA early this morning. Jose Louis Rodriguez said "this has been a hard blow and ETA is going to suffer for it".Sorry, I couldn't resist. It's just a great alarmist thread topic that couldn't be ignored. Can't help but think that this must have been an annoyance over the years to the eponymous maker of Swiss watch movements. Sort of like the World Wildlife Fund competing with the World Wrestling Federation (now the WWE) for a high profile acronym. I guess the wildlife people won that one.

Got me a new PAM 422
Hey Guys,So after going into an AD about a year and a half ago with my mind set on a complicated Pam in the form of the 270. I discovered it was discontinued and replaced with the 533. While I liked the 533. I didn't love it mainly due to the stealthed out black hands. Anyway I stumbled across the 372 and 422. The 372 while nice was far too simple for my liking. I know it's loved and adored by the paneristi and for good reason but just not for me. The 422 with running seconds and the power reserve is just perfect! I even got past the date and manual wind. Reason being the manual wind forces you to have the ritual of interacting with you timepiece which is quite lovely to experience the butter smooth winding action. Date. Well. How often do you check that and even keep it in sync :pAnyway. Got a great deal from my AD and although I missed out on tax free after trying my luck I am still over the moon with it. No buyers remorse here!Pic time....Now barring a pam689 being in a store I walk
