IWC 3251 wrist watches news:
I have a grail coming in that is powered by the 6R15, and I'd like to know more about it other than the standard "it hacks and handwinds"It seems to be pretty ubiquitous among Seiko's middle of the road offerings, so I'm assuming it's pretty robust?
I was about to pull the trigger today trading in my Breitling Bentley Motors ($4500-$5000 value) + $6000 for an AP Diver but in the last minute the dealer told me he didn't have the papers with the serial but could issue me a store appraisal so I canceled. He also said he would take it in for servicing and put a new rubber strap. Did I make the right move? What do you think is the value of having the warranty/serial certificate with the watch?
Having recently received this recent acquisition back from independent servicing, I couldn't be more pleased. As the title of the post suggests, this model, to my mind and eye, embodies all of the classic design elements of the Calatrava line of watches made famous by Patek Philippe (and first introduced in 1932). Housed in a simple, yet elegant 35mm case, is arguably the finest hand-wind movement ever produced by AP: the Valjoux-based VZSSc (the sub-second version was VZSS). Cheers, Tony C.
When the Omega cal 1861 first used? Many thanks!
