The March 2011 series of disasters in Japan really sucked for them, and it still sucks for them. It was like a triple play of Armageddon leaving even Godzilla offering to help pick up the rubble. Joking aside, much of Japan is in bad shape? - though the country is help together by the people's pride and cultural ability to survive and thrive after disaster strikes.As is the case with most all natural disasters, entities both private and public come to help. Corporations like to hold special events or create special products to aid recovery causes. Are these actions commercially driven? Sure, but it is the thought that counts right. Japan has always been a healthy market for Audemars Piguet and now, about six months after the fact when Japan is still in recovery mode, AP has launched two money raising charity programs. My new IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar double moon phase (2+ weeks old)
Just want to share some pics with this beautiful time piece. I have eyeing this for the past few years and finally bit the bullet and acquired this watch on 5 Jan 2011. I currently own a Pilot Chronograph as well. I am always impressed with IWC design in particular the size and clarity of the dial and the fine craftsmanship. I own more than 15 watches ranging from Rolex, Omega, Panerai, Azimuth, U-Boat, Poljot, Jaeger, IWC, Tag Heuer,etc. But this time round, I tell myself that I should save up and buy a really nice one with good complication and the perpetual calendar has been on my wish list for quite sometime. IWC offers one of the most price competitive Perpetual Calendar in the market (I think the cheapest among all PC) and that was one reason why I bought this watch. I never thought or dream that I will own one but I did....I have been wearing it with me travelling on a cruise followed by a trip to Hong Kong, Bangalore, Pune and finally now in New Delhi. The Oyster and a Seiko
Hey guys,I have been away for a while. I took 3 weeks holiday and spend 2 weeks touring New Zealand recently with my wife. We were celebrating our 26th anniversary. We traveled both the North and South Island and got to see much of the beautiful 'Land of the Long White Cloud'. My travel itinerary was fly into Auckland, spend a few days on the North visiting the Bays, Beaches, Hobbiton and Lake Roturoa. From there we'd fly to Christchurch, rent a campervan and drive around the whole South. We managed to do most except for Lake Roturoa which was cancelled due to bad weather.Lot's of beautiful photos but I should start with my Seiko, low tide at Sandspit bay, collecting Oysters. LOL! First AP arrived and joining the club
First off, I'd like to thank DavidSW and the mod that rectify my posting yesterday. I got super excited and posted the FedEx update and accidentally included my tracking number. Someone actually joked that 11 others were redirecting it as we speak. I thought it was funny but DavidSW didn't and took action pretty quickly to take the post down before anything bad happened. Just never know and I appreciate what he did. I've done two deals with David and this just goes to show what a gentleman he is. Without further ado, on to the pictures to tell the story. It's been a crazy year of purchases, so I'm telling myself that this is IT for awhile. Enjoy the pictures as I will be enjoying my new 15400! Just awesome.
