Invicta 10389 wrist watches news:
I'm considering adding a Rolex Submariner 116610 to my collection and last week I took a very brief passing look at the preowned watches on display in various windows in Burlington Arcade. None except for one shop were priced and these seemed to be expensive even though they were on sale at 20% off. Has anyone got any experience of dealers in Burlington Arcade? I've read some shocking stories on other forums and on the other hand I have read that these are reputable dealers. image.jpgThanks
Y'all may remember my posting a couple months ago of an Elgin 670 movement I had acquired. It was damaskeened, and gold plated, and was one of 1000 Elgin made to commemorate the 50 Millionth Elgin watch? It had apparently been stripped out of one of the special 18kt cases which presumably was melted. Well, there's one up on The Swamp now - 220918529458. This one has all kinds of problems - the dial was redone incorrectly - now reads 'Elgin' instead of 'Lord Elgin' and the damaskeened and gold plated barrel bridge has been replaced with a nickle finish one from another movement. HOWEVER, this one comes with the sterling silver box mentioned in the ad. Sadly, the photos are SO BAD it's hard to distinguish anything. And this guy is supposedly professional.
So, a coupl eyears ago my wife and I went for a tour through Europe - it rocked. While in Switzerland, I bought a watch (go figure). While in Germany, I drank beer. Sure, I could have went cheap and did the chocolate thing in Switzerland, but, nah...So, this beauty came home on that trip and she taught me a valuable lessonI prefer watches with date windows. ;) I love this watch, but find myself checkign it for the date whenever I wear it and realizing it doesn't have one - but, when at the shop, you buy what they have, so...Now, after solemnly promising to never buy another expensive watch again, during a pre-Christmas "retreat" my wife and I enjoyed in montreal last year, I wanted to check out the Rolex shop. Game to indulge me, my wife followe dme into a nearby shop, whereupon she saw this one and suggested maybe I might like it. Never did make it to the Rolex shop, but haven't regretted my choice either...For everyday wear, I tend to grab my Luminox or Diesel...Now considering
So I finally tried this amazing watch on last night at my AD, what an amazing dial! it really pops....only problem was the size, I have a very small wrist and there was too much space on both sides of the lug; when compared to a daytona, the top and bottom of the watch extended more above my wrist....I also tried a ROO with RC and it fit pretty well, I would say it looked and felt like a better fit even-though it's still too big for my taste as I'm looking for something I can wear with dress shirts on a daily basis.I was wondering how the 15300 compares as far as lug to lug size goes from the top and bottom where the bracelet joins.Does 15300 have the same silver/white dial? in the pics it seems it's just white? Thanks in advance!
If Patek expanded the Nautilus line to include a two tone 5711/1AR or 5711/1AJ with the same blue dial shade as the 5980/1AR, would you want to buy one?
