Following on Steve's excellent post on his trip to Park City - it turns out that while Steve was at a former Winter Olympics site in the US, I was at one in Europe at the same time! My team from work took its annual ski weekend at Sestriere, a resort in the Italian Alps about a two-hour drive from Turin. Sestriere was one of the sites and Olympic Villages of the 2006 Winter Olympics.I'm not really much of a skiier, but had a blast. After the first day I managed to graduate from the bunny slopes and try a few real runs. Despite regularly falling (into the slopes, so it was always pretty gentle), I managed to survive and even get up a bit of speed. Some of my colleagues and the instructor the girls were fawning all over: Apr¨¨s-ski was also fun of course!! And, of course, I managed to squeeze in some wristshots, but only one turned out good enough to post here: Now.for the best part of the trip I didn't have my camera with me!! On Sunday, the slopes were draped in an inpentrable fog, so
Just wondering... Because I am not planning to, for the first time since I start collecting AP watches 5 years ago, not even one single piece this year interest me. Certainly not those horrid colored divers. ( apologies to those that like them ). Originally was considering the 15202IP but considering the bezel is so easily scratched and after seeing some live pics and video, I changed my mind ( not to mentioned AP probably sold out before I can get one ). I also think they drop the ball big time by failing to release the long overdue inhouse chrono.I got an invitation to preview the novelties in the local Singapore boutique but I don't even feel like going this time.
Guys, Most of my posts are on the vintage Rolex side - I have always been a case and chamfers guy. I just recd this 16 mil Jumbo and am over the moon excited with the wide flat chamfers. The dial needs to be replaced but the case (for me) makes it a keeper.
I was messing around with my Canon EOS 400D SLR today and after trying for hours to get some decent shots of my Omegas, I realised that I:1) Need a proper macro lens2) I need a tripod because my hands suckThe below is the only shot that looks half way decent. Doesn't really do these amazing watches justice.Copper
