I recently put in an 802.11N router in my home, so I can easily work outside on the deck. It's very peaceful out back:Everything I need to work:I couldn't resist taking a few watch photos while I was out there. I guess I should admit that I recently purchased a Canon "Elph" SD1000 as a pocket camera for doing wrist shots and such when I'm not wanting to haul around a DSLR and my backpack full of lenses:It does OK for a pocket camera. Went to check out a watchmaker today.....opinions wanted
I had ben meaning to get by his shop for some time now and finally managed to go in this morning. Nice small shop. I asked a few questions, looked around a bit. I have a couple of concerns about giving him my pieces to service. I want your opinions on my concerns.First concern. He's an older gentleman(no problem) speaks broken English..very broken. His wife, who greets customers speeks none. Communication could be an issue.second concern. He claims to work on Vacheron and Patek but the highest line he seems to deal with is either Seiko or Citizen. Everything else in his shop is no-name quartz. third concern. He's a Seiko AD and he asked if I paid $900 for my Orange Monster. If your an AD should you not know the retail prices of your brand?opinions please. SHould I give the man a chance or keep looking?

Rolex GMT 16700 - Hit or Miss?
Dear all...Since your are all very knowable people, and I¡äm a bit to spontaneous, I would like your help to either calm myself or simply to try to save eventually losses. Yesterday I got feeling and bought a complete set 16700 from 1990 for 7000USD. The impression I got from the lot was that the watch was in god standing (not over polished if polished at all). But did I overpay?
