Seiko SUP068 wrist watches news:
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Roger Dubuis manufacture outside of Geneva and had the double pleasure of meeting Mr. Dubuis himself. After touring the manufacture and learning of the rigorous processes behind the Poinçon de Genève standard, we were led into a large conference room with a sweeping view of Mont Blanc and the not-yet-completed Richemont Campus Genevois de Haute Horology. When Dubuis entered the room – situated quite literally at the crux of the old guard and future of the industry – one of the key things on my mind was what was on his wrist that day. 2 OF 4 The 37mm case sits elegantly on the wrist. The Roger Dubuis Sympathie Bi-Retrograde Perpetual Calendar Moonphase was introduced around 1995-1996. The 37mm stylized cushion-shaped gold case appears baroque, but not in an offensive way. Here's the latest on my SMP 2531.80 which has been running fast. The watchmaker at my AD said that there's some spring or something that coiled over or whatever and that was what was causing my watch to run erratic. He overhauled the watch and straightend out whatever the problem was and he also said the rate adjust levers tension was fine, nothing there to fix and that the watch is now keeping to +2 sec per day in all positions. He's keeping it a few more days and wearing it as well and then he's going to double check the accuracy on the winder and set it for 0 seconds +/-. He's done this before and it stayed right on the money for a long time. I explained to him what I do at work and he suspects what I'm doing is too violent and causes the problems I've had with the watch. I'm skeptical but there has been a few times where I've gone to set the watch down on a counter or a table at home and missed it completely and my SMP landed face down on tiled concrete. OUCH! It's not like
Greetings (inaugural post)!Have the pleasure of recently acquiring 2 Grand Seikos [Divers Spring Drive and HI Beat 36000]. My understanding is that when servicing required (the watches are new, so in 3-ish years time ) they must be returned to Japan/Seiko. Is there not a North American outlet capable? And what is the average cost/turnover time for such a service? Thanks in advance. NTP
