Invicta 14081 wrist watches news:
Emile Chouriet ¨C Classic WisdomAs the great Greek philosopher Socrates (470BC-399BC) said: "wisdom begins in wonder." There's wonder in everything around us that gives us joy. Love, nature and life are rife with wonder. Is there anything more amazing than wisdom and wonder?Emile Chouriet has put its almost magical values into its Classic Wisdom. A wavy line splits the anthracite grey dial in two making it look like two open wings. The line divides the dial into a classic, smooth and shiny sunburst side and a matt, textured and "raw" side. It's a sandy beach lapping a pebble beach dotted with time markers beneath the hands. The 40mm steel watch's self-winding calibre brings to life the hours, minutes, seconds and date. From 1000 CHFBy Sharmila Bertinemile-chouriet.ch
Put it another way, do you tend to wear watches of approximately the same size or take in a variety of dimensions?I thought about this aspect of size last week. Our amigo Gee Jaay was saying that he had a preference for smaller sizes, the Speedy Pro probably being his upper limit. Gee Jaay finds 34 to 36mm as being eminently wearable finding solace in his Connie Anciens ;) and predicting a fashionable return to smaller dials.
This is a two-tone, 22mm, Pilot bracelet (350D). It is one of the most durable and comfortable bracelets made. But look at how the gold on the sides of the links is worn away. These gold links are stainless steel with a layer of gold on the top. This view of the end (where the gold is still there) shows how thick it is originally. This shot of the side shows how thin it has become. So where did the gold go? If it is polished incorrectly, this is the result. Two-tone bracelets present a difficult challenge. By the time enough metal is removed to polish the stainless steel rows, way too much can be removed from the gold ones. There is a way to polish these successfully, but it is tedious and requires patience and the proper training. Even Breitling will not polish as an only job. So the next time your helpful sales person offers you a quick polish you may want to think twice. The MSRP on a new one is up to $2750 now.Steve
I'll be in Zurich Monday to Thursday. Might have to make a day trip to Basel. Never been to the show. Do you have to be connected to get tickets or can anyone go?
About a month ago I received a call from my AD that he got a watch in that I should see. He was going to have his X-mas party in a few weeks so I asked him to hold it for me. I have a 5711 blue that is supposed to be in shortly (Patek time so .......) Started a thread about having both and received mixed responses but when I saw it at the party knew I had to have it. Unfortunately it needed a link & a half so left it at the AD. Friday I received a call from AD the link arrived so picked it up Saturday. Some phone pics.
