Hey guys ! ! !I was in Best Buy today, wanted to pick up a new wireless mouse because the old one had broken. I spent about 10 minutes picking out the one that I wanted and I was about to leave the store when I walked down the computer isle. This HUGE screen caught my eye so I stopped to take a better look. The screen on this honey is a WHOPPING 23 inches and is a TOUCH SCREEN just like an i-phone or you can use it just like a regular computer ! ! ! The ENTIRE thing is wireless, no wires on the keyboard or the mouse. The screen resolution is SUPERB ! ! ! I played with it for around half an hour then pulled the trigger ! ! ! Rushed home to set it up and I started surfing ebay for watches. I have bought a few dials in the recent past that looked VERY nice in the supplied pictures but upon arrival and under a 10 power loupe I saw a hairline or two so the purchase was a bad decision. A Tale of Four Crowns (offset)
As my passion for early watches continues, I picked up my fourth 'offset' crown - this one using a Lepine movement with crown at 1.30.Its an early 1916 ELGIN Trench Watch with Offset CrownExcellent overall condition. This watch numbers among the earliest of American wristwatches. Movement serial number 19150974 dating it to 1916Fitted with a correct period handmade black leather Saddlers 2 piece band, In 1918 all bands were handmade!WW1 era Elgin 0 size ¡°trench watch¡°, 15 jewel, ¡®offset crown. Case by ¡°Philadelphia Watch Case Co¡± with wire lugs, designed just for the band fitted. My new IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar double moon phase (2+ weeks old)
Just want to share some pics with this beautiful time piece. I have eyeing this for the past few years and finally bit the bullet and acquired this watch on 5 Jan 2011. I currently own a Pilot Chronograph as well. I am always impressed with IWC design in particular the size and clarity of the dial and the fine craftsmanship. I own more than 15 watches ranging from Rolex, Omega, Panerai, Azimuth, U-Boat, Poljot, Jaeger, IWC, Tag Heuer,etc. But this time round, I tell myself that I should save up and buy a really nice one with good complication and the perpetual calendar has been on my wish list for quite sometime. IWC offers one of the most price competitive Perpetual Calendar in the market (I think the cheapest among all PC) and that was one reason why I bought this watch. I never thought or dream that I will own one but I did....I have been wearing it with me travelling on a cruise followed by a trip to Hong Kong, Bangalore, Pune and finally now in New Delhi. Hi guys, I am working on a creative project that talks about how Rolex plays a role in father and son relationship, my personal history with Rolex has been that my father introduced me to the Rolex brand when I was about 16 years old, passed on his GMT to me when I was 25, then I eventually purchased my first Sub at 31 years old. I love Rolex because of the history, the craftsmanship, durability and look, had my father never owned one I would probably never been interested in one.A watch is purchased, gifted, or passed on for many reasons, my question is in regards to Rolex specifically, on a father and son relationship.Why do you feel a Rolex is passed on?
