Yesterday at our family Christmas gathering, my father hands this to me and says, "Here, you like old Hamiltons...this was your grandfathers."I sat stunned for a second.....I opened the bag he handed me and saw this inside:I never saw this watch before! It must have been sitting in my Dad's jewelry box forever......The back:My grandfather's name, and mention of his membership in the Knights of Columbus, dated 1941-1942.De-cased, the dial looks pretty good for it's age:The 982 movement looks clean. It doesn't run..the balance tries to start, but I'm guessing any lubrication dried up a long time ago. He died in 1973 (when I was 4), and I never saw my father wear this watch.The inside of the caseback:There are a few watchmaker's inscriptions-one dated 1951. I would guess that's the last time this poor watch had a service done!Anyway, and info about this watch would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!Greg
got another watch to add to my collection, its a Rousseau and has 35 jewels. it has day, date, and month and moon/sun indicator. the best part, i got it for 35 dollars. it looks great and runs too.
Recently tried on the AP ROO 26400SO, Stainless steel with ceramic bezel and can't get it out of my head! One of those watches that just look so much better in the flesh than in photos.Considering trading my deepsea and planet ocean plus cash for one.Can any owner comment on this model?
