Unexpected suprise...
I'll start by saying that I have known that my girlfriend's father is into watches, especially dive watches. Not sure exactly what he has, a couple Citizens, but I am not sure of the rest...So the other day we went over to their house for dinner and I noticed he was wearing an Invicta Pro Diver, in my favorite style.When we were at the table I said to my girlfriend, look at your dad's watch, that's like the one I want. He immediately, without hesitation pops it off and hands it to me and says, "here, it's yours, I hate it."I was shocked at first, I thought he was just taking it off to show me but he was actually serious. He said its heavy and pulls his hairs out. He then went out of the room and came back with a Luminox on.So, thanks for him I have the watch I have wanted for some time. Its the quartz instead of the automatic, but I am in no way complaining. Its nice because my last watch I lost or was stolen out of my car.

Has anybody here heard of Vaan Konrad watches? I found this one on the 'bay and liked the look of it, but have never heard of this brand:Its a 35 jewel automatic movement with an open heart, stainless steel case, mineral crystal, big date, day of the week and month subdials, and leather strap. I thought it looked pretty nice for being a $112 watch. Does anyone have any experience with this line of watches?
Has anybody here heard of Vaan Konrad watches? I had the short hand model and it didn't last long here. I never fully connected with it. I am interested in the revised, long hand, blue luminescent hour numeral model. I understand these, and many steel Rolex watches are not so easy to find. I have a local Rolex dealer, AD, who has one. Is finding one indeed somewhat difficult these days? And, is the new model more charming than the one it replaced? Is it a fabulous watch? Any opinions on it are appreciated. Thank you!
