- Good, simple watch. The band is a little thick, so it must be taken off while typing or else it gets in the way. Other than that, its good.

Hi,Long-time listener, first time caller here :)I'm looking for a watch I can surf and fly with (surfing has killed every single watch I ever had, though they none of them were in the class of the Omega). So far, the Seamaster GMT (2234.50) seems like the ticket - it has Zulu time, and great water resistance.I do like the innards of the GMT Professional a lot more (2535.80), but am not a big fan of the skeleton hands. After checking it out in a store, it seemed pretty hard to read in the dark. Are there other watches I am missing? Perhaps some discontinued models I should look into?On a side note, I paid a visit to an authorized dealer here in SF today, and talked them down to a 20% discount on the 2234.50. Add over 8% of CA tax, and it doesn't seem like that good of a deal...All feedback appreciated, and thanks in advance,Vee
Well, this thread has been a long time coming. I say that because I recieved this beautiful Benrus pocket watch from a very good friend here at this forum, whose name will remain anonymous, (hint - he is a moderator here at the American! - hint). This friend knows that I am a Benrus devotee and had been thinking of starting a collection of PW's, so being the great guy and horilogical lover that he is, gave me this Bennie PW. What a guy, right? Well, I promised him that I would do a thread on this PW for a long time and I dragged my feet, not intentionally, but because my picture taking ability stinks and I was busy for awhile there. (Bad excuses, I know...) Well, enough blather, here she is! - Now the reason I called it "the" Benrus PW, is because this is the only Benrus PW I've ever seen. They did not seem to get into the PW market in a big way like some other manufacturers did. But they did do a wonderful job on this watch. Very nice looking dial with a nice sub-dial for the seconds
No, that's not Italian. I am wondering if a Watch Enthusiast who has many watches can have a single watch style that best suits his personality? When people think of you, do they have an impression that best suits a type of watch? Which watch best suits your personality or lifestyle? And if there is such a watch for you, how do you feel when you wear something totally different? For example, if you think of yourself as a Rolex sub sort of guy, can you wear a G Shock? And maybe you like all sorts of watches and don't mind wearing the G Shock; but when you do wear something really different, does it make you feel different? Do people react to you differently when you wear different watches? If you are used to wearing an $8,000 watch or more, how do you feel when you wear a Timex and people notice it?These are all different ways of asking if you believe in a 'signature watch.'
