Jaeger LeCoultre Jaeger LeCoultre 37853 wrist watches news:
In one of those stunning stories only made possible by the Internet, in 2012 a man turned to Google to search for "Vacheron & Constantin" and "egg" to find that the jewel-encrusted gold egg housing a Vacheron watch he purchased for $13,302 in the early 2000s at a Midwestern flea market was in fact an 1887 birthday gift for Tsar Alexander III from?Peter Carl Faberg¨¦. It has now sold privately for millions,?likely?making it the most expensive timepiece on earth. The unnamed individual stumbled on a 2011 Telegraph article entitled "Is this ¡ê20 million nest-egg on your mantelpiece?" The egg was the third of 54 Faberg¨¦?eggs owned by the Russian royal family and had been lost since 1922. It is recorded that in 1922 this egg was transferred from the Kremlin Armoury, which had confiscated the eggs in 1917 when the Tsar was overthrown, to the special plenipotentiary of the Council of People's Commissars, Ivan Gavrilovich Chinariov. Beyond the written records, a 1902 photograph of the egg on exhi
First and foremost...sorry that I haven't been around much. Trying to help drum up business at work to keep the company afloat (and keep my job in the process) has taken it's toll on the time I've had to log on here and post and reply to comments, but rest assured, I'm still here, and I'm still reading the forums as much as I can!I'd been talking with friend and fellow WTF member bullandvodka about a DateJust I saw at a jewlery store in the not too distant past. It was a stainless model with black dial, and my eye was caught by the fact that the numerals on the date disk were red. I was thinking to myself "I thought that was a Turn-O-Graph thing". So I ask to see it and my friend behind the counter gets the watch out, and as per usual I look it over and toy around with it for a minute, open and close the clasp, wind it a few times, and then i popped the crown out another position and changed the date, and I nearly fell over. The next numeral was black! I flipped it again, and ba
Does anyone know the model number of the Omega watch worn by JFK. All I seem to be able to find out is that it was an "ultra thin" model?
I am starting to fear that maybe I didn't do enough homework before my most recent purchase...My new vintage Hamilton Gilbert-1. As Rusty stated, it's in almost mint condition.2. It's keeping time like a new watch.3. I love it!ButQuestion-It has been redialed as admitted by the seller (who has 3000 sales and 99.9% feedback). But I fear the redial work is not as accurate as it should be, unless there were a few versions of this watch in circulation.Look at this example of a Gilbert, which is representative of many I have seen on the web. Note the font of the name Hamilton, and how it is straight across the dial, not in an arc. Also look at the seconds sub-dial:Now look at mine-The name Hamilton is in an arc and of different font. The markings on the sub-dial is different as well, and has some imperfections at the bottom. The watch is authentic in every other way:Perhaps I should have done more research
