Back from Boston and three days with my Datejust
Here's a few pictures I snapped when I wasn't in meetings. One evening we went to Salem to a neat outdoor seafood restaurant for dinner:My trusty vintage DJ was with with me the entire trip. It really made for a nice traveling companion. It's one of the least worn pieces in my collection so I was happy spend some extended time with it. The flight home:Ahhh....back in Ohio:Back on the ground in Dayton:I'm hoping to stay home for a couple of months and enjoy the summer with my family.

Radium Dials...Do they Pose an Actual Danger?
While radium dials/hands have been phased out for decades now, for folks interested in vintage models does this feature pose any inherent dangers to the wearer?I have heard that as long as the case/crystal remain intact, there is no real hazard. on the other hand, some older radium models run 'hotter' than others. since radium has a half-life of roughly 1600 years (compared to tritium's 12.5 years) , the radioactivity is not going to go away during the course of ownership or one's lifetime.while the use of radium was prevalent during the 1930's, many 1950s era watches still used radium as an illuminating factor & I have read that a 'hot' radium dial can crank out as much radiation over time as a series of minor (i.e. dental) x-rays.should they be avoided or in a best case scenario...collected but not worn regularly?

Surprised at SS Sky dweller prices
I am new to Rolex, do understand the Daytona following, the watch has a long history. Sky dweller SS on the other hand is new watch why the crazy asking prices? It has to establish itself as an iconic piece to command the premium.Would I buy a SS model if offered as MSRP absolutely, only blue or black dial.I picked a TT black dial couple of weeks ago, had the option to get white or champagne decided to get black dial.
