Longines L49104722 wrist watches news:
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jeff Stein and his OnTheDash is something really special in the vintage Heuer community. It is, without a doubt, the thought-leader in the space, full of honest (rare in the watch world) assessments and analysis of the ever growing culture of vintage Heuer chronographs. Today, Mr. Stein has published a fascinating look at the Autavia, in all its incarnations, with glances at differentiating specific models, which are most collectible and why, famous wearers of the Autavia, and pricing trends. Even if you have just a passing interest in the original Heuer racer's watch, this is worth a read.Check out Jeff Stein's collector's guide to the Heuer Autavia here.
Pulled the trigger on this Oris LE Maldives. Just wanted to share some pics. staugustine18-135mmisstm001-1.jpgorislemaldives022.jpgorislemaldives003.jpgorislemaldives031.jpgorislemaldives017.jpg
After searching a pre-owned market here for a while, I finally got the Speedy Pro Schumaker LE in pristine condition.Immediately I changed the bracelet into a black croco strap, and I love it!Here's the pics! Thanks for the help guys!PS: I'm still awaiting for the speedy meteorite to come in the AD and see what's it's like! Hehee..
Does anyone know whether perpetual Pateks are still sold in the U.S. with a winder presentation box? I bought a new 5140 two weeks ago from an AD. It came with a beautiful wooden presentation box, but no winder. Have they been discontinued, or did the AD keep it? Wanted to check here before complaining. I can't find anything on Patek's website concerning the accessories, other than the solid case back and setting tool.
I currently own a WG Sub and a BLRO and love them.I was looking to add to my collection so I went to an AD and actually tried on both the regular version with brown subdials and the version with all glacier blue dial and glacier blue subdials with the diamond markers.I loved both.I have an opportunity to purchase both of them at 30% off MSRP.I wanted peoples opinions (I already PM Dr. Tom and appreciated his thoughts!) about whether the watches are too similar to have in one collection or are they different enough?I really thought they looked different enough. Finally, I don't flip watches so these would be keepers so I am not worried about losing money selling them on the secondary market.I know I could get a Platona and DD40 in platinum or maybe a Platona and a Patek ....but I really prefer Rolex sports watches above all others...so I wanted everyone's thoughts.Thanks.
