Please help identify this Seamaster Calendar
Hi, I have been left a watch by my father, an Omega Seamaster Calendar. It had sentimental value to him, but I'm not a watch wearer, and I'm not sure if this is something that I want to keep, other than to honor his memory.Can someone help me with a proper identification of what I've got? I'd like to know what the key information is in order to properly evaluate its value, aside from the sentimental aspect, of course. It is not in working condition, and my local watch guy says it would take several hundred dollars to get it working again, not too mention that it's pretty well beat up.Thanks!mister beebe.

Just"won" a Benrus alarm and a Lord Elgin 30 Jewel
Getting a mechanical alarm watch has been on my to do list. With new Vulcains running into the thousands, I had to go the other way. I lost out on a nice Benrus alarm watch last week when at the last second bidding went into crazy territory. It isn't that I couldn't have won it, I just wasn't going to pay $400 for one. This one was within my tolerances. Looking at the pictures, the dial looks great, but will probably need some TLC to bring the case up to specs.Screen Shot 2013-09-22 at 4.36.36 PM.jpgThe other watch I won today was a Lord Elgin American made 30 jewel automatic. i received these watches from a dear friend as a gift one is a vintage Stowa manual wind and i think it has an ETA movement. and the other is an Omega Seamaster!

Which movement do you like best?
I find the 2892 series far more refined. Ultra slim and generally more accurate.Of course, it is the upgraded movement and more expensive. I think it's worth the extra dough.

Am I crazy to sell?
After a long search for a new 114060 in the UK - and frustration with the random rubbish ADs were telling me about wait lists - I finally gave up and bought a new one while on holiday in Cologne in Dec 2017. Even then only one AD in the city had one in stock and they were reluctant to sell it to me. Sadly with the poor exchange rate I paid the EURO tax and effectively bought over UK retail.Cut to today, and I fear I'm going to have to sell it as **IF** I've not been fibbed to I'm getting close to the top of the wait list for a BLNR locally and will need to somehow pay for it **OR** I quite fancy a BB inhouse instead, something I can wear every day without worrying too much about it.I was offered 5100-5300 from a well know watch purchasing company. Of course I would refuse to sell unless they go with 5300, but even at that prie am I crazy to sell at that? Is it worth holding onto it?What do people think?Apologies for the indecision.
