Portuguese 500107 and Pilot's Mark XVI 325501....Accuracy?
I am new to this forum and have enjoyed browsing it today. Lots of good infor by very smart people. I have a dilemma. I am considering buying a Portuguese Automatic 7 Day watch and a Pilots Mark XVI. I was all set to pull the trigger on both of these watches but I am now concerned about the accuracy of the the Portuguese watch. I have a number of automatic watches including a Patek 5045, JLC Reverso, Omega Seamaster to name a few. I can deal with the inherent inaccuracies of automatic watches to a certain limit. I am concerned with the accuracy of the inhouse movement of the Portuguese. How bad is it? I have been reading that it can be as bad as 3-4 minutes per week. That is probably too much for me to take. I am now rethinking spending 9K on this watch. Is the ETA mvmt of the Pilot's watch more accurate? Maybe I should consider the Big Pilots watch too? I am now very confuse and I am looking for some direction and other thoughts on the matter.Thanks for your help.Constantine

Incredible customer service!
I know most times when we hear about a retailer it's to complain, but here's a happy ending. I own(ed) a Tiffany's SS quartz watch. It came on a decent leather band, and a few months later I purchased a croc strap also. Changing straps and battery replacement is free for life at Tiffany's when you purchase one of their items. Well, the only thing that bugged me about my watch was the simple fact it was not an automatic. I went to get some info for a fellow WTF member and saw the new in-house automatics. SWEET! Here's the good part: they let me trade in my quartz AT FULL VALUE on the new auto, AND put my croc strap on, AND even let me keep the original leather band. Here's a few shots....tell me this isn't a great looking display back:

Silver Snoopy has landed
A few Q&D's of the new Snoopy speedy.Omega was the first brand I bought when I could afford a nice watch. I then owned several of them before abandoning ship for the unknown diverse waters of this insane hobby of ours.A week or so ago I discovered the Snoopy and after making 20+ plus calls I sadly discovered that it was sold out and no one would even take a name in case somebody bailed. As luck would have it, one popped up on TZ and a deal was made and the watch is now on my wrist. Nothing like instant gratification :)I am pysched to be back in the Omega fold with a Speedy. A classic watch for sure. I also have a lifelong love of Peanuts and Snoopy. Love everything about this watch. The dial is a work of art and so is the back. And like my Deepsea, you don't notice the writing on the dial unless you really look. Even with my reading glasses on I can barely make out the 14 seconds quote.Enjoy!

Is it me or something else?
Hi TRF,Whilst wandering around the Tourneau today, I really was struck by just how incredible all Rolex watches are. The PM Daytonas, DDs, DJs, Smurfs, etc.--which tells you what they had--looked fantastic. Its not just that the Rolex watches look great under bright lights. All brand watches do. They're supposed to. The IWC's, Tudor, etc., also looked great. However, the Rolex watches just looked a cut above. Maybe its me and my desire to own a 16610LV, Sky Dweller, and perhaps even a GMT 1675, which is skewing my vision. I acknowledge my own bias. However, objectively, Rolex does seem seem to have some x factor quality that simply makes them stand out on an individual watch-to-watch basis.What do you think?Best,TA
