Hello gentleman, in an earlier post I was advised to take a look at Orient watches for a solid affordable option. I found a few that seem to have lower than expected prices and I was wondering if they are "knock offs" or if for some reason their quality is much lower than other Orient watches and if you could explain why?Orient #BEM6Q002V Men's Purple Dial Tri Star Standard Self Winding Automatic Watch: Watches: AmazonOrient #BEM6Q006N Men's Tri Star Standard Self Winding Automatic Watch: Watches: AmazonOrient #BEM5V001D Men's Facet Glass Gold Tone Stainless Steel Automatic Watch: Watches: Amazon
Hello all, I'm beginning a restoration on a late 40's early 50's (not sure of exact date) Cyma 'watersport'. It's housed in a square SS case and contains a cal. 420 automatic (bumper) movement. (also referred to as a Tavannes 420).There seems to be 'little' information on Cyma watches (on the web) even though they have a long history (starting in the late 1800's and manufacturing in-house movements through the post WWII era (late 50's early 60's)). The brand name is still being sold today, but I'm not sure of what linkages (if any) exist between the past company and the current marketed brand (again, no info I could find). I did discover that the 'watersport' was a fairly popular model and collected by a number of enthusiasts (maybe years back, not sure of the demand today). As for the movement, parts are still being carried by JB (well some of them anyway) so that's good, but I've not been able to locate 'any' sources for case parts (specifially crystal, gasket). So any leads here wo
Has anyone seen an AP that looks gorgeous in the renderings or stock photos only to be disappointed when seeing it in real life? On the flip side has an AP ever caught your eye at the boutique that you never noticed in the catalogue or website because it didn't stand out?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In my last post, most of you friends recommend me to keep the 5167a and geta 5712a, so I decide to keep 2 watches, 1 tropical bracelet and 1 stainless steel bracelet. The problem now is that do I need to change my 5167a to 5164a? Which combination is better?
