Maurice Lacroix LC6027-SS001-110 wrist watches news:
Over the next couple of months I hope to make a start on getting some tired dials refinished. I've noted that there seems to be a range of options, especially when it comes to luminous dials.....I think all of us could benefit if those that have been through the process could reply with images of the various refinishing options, not just luminous. Plus - what else should one know when lodging a watch for refinishing? (One tip mentioned previously is to ensure you send the hands and the watch face together). How detailed do you have to be? What are the traps for young players? Do you need to look at Tom's post of the dial options and specify which one you want? Or is it sufficient to request "Refinish as original" knowing the refinisher will do the right thing? What is the cutoff date for refinishing - ie is there a time after or before which the refinisher cannot help you with that model? Are watch dial refinishers different to watch dial restorers? Or does the one company do bot
Sorry, Dennis. I was scoping this out on eBay when yours went up in the sales forum.
OK, Jeopardy is on and Watson the computer is challenging 2 humans but that is not the experiment I just did. First, I just removed a fixed end watchband trying to use the tools in that cheap kit mentioned in a previous thread. I could not fit the springbar tool into the slot so I had to grind down the outside which did not work as well as the screwdriver I had to grind down the sides. The other experiment was to address my "springing" springbars. Scott Allison of timesofplenty heard of my problem and sent me a pair of 25mm (uncompressed) so I tried themthey are a little too long. My 20mm band springbars are 22.2mm (uncompressed) so I am going to try a pair of 21mm springbars to see it they work. My logic is that if 20mm springbars are 22.2mm and I suspect the 25mm are for a 22mm band a 21mm band springbar should be around 23mm which might work.Scott was really nice to send me a set to try this experimentI appreciate his action and the idea that a member of the forum would do suc
it was perfect just got home and the ups driver had a package for me.
Anyone here ever purchased anything from this online seller? I am thinking buying this one. 43% off.
