New here and need help picking out a pocket watch.
I hate to be a 'drive by' forum user, but I know nothing at all about watches. I've been working at the same company for 15 years, they want to buy me a watch (well and the others who've been there 15 years). I don't wear watches, don't have any clocks (besides the cheapo alarm clock I use). A cuckoo clock would be amusing, for about 10 minutes ;-). I do however find pocket watches to be useful, had a cheap one years ago and it served me well (until it croaked). I've got a $300 budget, and I figure that's probably enough money to get a decent watch.however I of course don't know anything about decent watches! I'm hoping to get some suggestions from the fine users of this forum, and I will certainly consider purchasing through a sponsor here (via click on site) if that'll kick some back to the forum.Oh yeah, I'd prefer mechanical..there's just something.. satisfying about winding a watch.Thanks in advance.

Mesh Options?
Hello All,I'm looking to pair my Steinhart O2 with yet another mesh bracelet. First, I paired it with a WJean mesh and although it worked well for what it was - I was looking for a thicker mesh with a bit higher quality .Second, I purchased a 3.5mm Staib mesh. Very nice quality but it lacked micro adjustments, something I look for in my straps.Third, I purchased a 4.5mm Staib "Monster" mesh. Good quality and nice fit but too heavy. Returned immediately.I'm reaching out to you guys in hopes of finding the right mesh strap to pair my O2 with. Below are two lists detailing what I would like in the strap and what I would not like. Any and all help appreciated!What I would LIKE:- Needs to be 3.5mm thick or very close- Needs to have micro adjustments- Endlinks need to be the solid bar type and not the open bar mesh.- Brushed finish- No more than $110What I would NOT like:- Flip lock clasp- Open endlinks- Polished finish

Hi All,I've got an anniversary coming up and am thinking about getting a pair of his and her watches to celebrate this milestone. To compliment my own collection, I am looking at a rectangular watch. At the moment, I am considering two brands, Patek and JLC. I am thinking about perhaps the Patek 5124g for me and the Patek twenty 4 for her or a pair of Jaeger-LeCoultre Reversos. For example, a Reverso One Duetto for her and a Reverso Tribute Duo for me, or the Tribute to 1931 for me and the Reverso One R¨¦¨¦dition for her. Alternatively, I could just get her a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony to pair with the one that I already have and get something different altogether for myself. What are your thoughts on these options?I'd also love to see pics of any other members who have paired with the wife.
