Maurice Lacroix LC6017-YS101-130 wrist watches news:
OK, while out last week I was advised by an AD I usually get good info from that Omega will be implementing a price increase in the US this fall. He didn't have the exact date, but going of past history, if it's implemented it'll probably be October or November. He said this was the increase Omega wanted to do last year, but decided not to in light of the economy. But, he said this fall will have the increase. No word on amount, he's just going by what he was told by Omega. It does make some sense to me given they were all set to implement an increase last year & pulled out at the last minute. So, while take AD advise for the price you paid for it, just FYI there in case you're in the market. Also, if Omega does go forward with the increase you can probably expect some of the other brands to follow them.
Many years ago I read "Dress for Success" and this treatise became the standard for corporate business wear. Not being in the corporate world the ideals apply to other professions as well. Malloy writes "The business man does not wear dive watches, race car watches, or astronaut watches, but something on a leather strap and simple." That is at least how the thoughts were prior to the evolution to the casual Friday business attire. No doubt, the white dial Daytona has a cult following and who could argue with the way it looks with anything from a golf shirt to a herringbone sport coat. Just look at how great it looks on John Holbrook's wrist at the three day Rolex event in Kentucky. (See JBH's great travel article on the Rolexreference page) However, I have always gravitated to the black dial watches, whether it be pilots, divers, or chronographs for their technical or tool look. When I got the call from the AD, it was a black and not a white. Without hesitation the black was a "go" bec
This little Hampden was just bought in our store. Not a problem to find info on the basic watch, some plain, some with engravings, diff colors of overlays, etc. But, I haven't been able to find one with the diamond in the center. The bezel is inside the case, the outer part had some preformed prongs.. Diamond is natural, and the engraving does NOT appear to be added aftermarket..ie; appears factory issue. Anyone have any info on this? Do you need more info? Production 1911 based on serial number. 0 size. Molly Stark movement, Dueber case, as in most of these. Thanks, Chuck
From the Times of London 5-12-08:A wristwatch which belonged to a Italian count who won Grand Prix races and was president of Ferrari fetched a record ?1.1million at auction today.Count Carlo Felice Trossi's large gold Patek Philippe timepiece sold at Geneva's Sotheby's sale for more than ?200,000 than expected. The "Trossi Leggenda", described as "almost certainly unique" by experts, was the star lot among nearly 200 watches.
Sneaky Rolex added this dial to the inventory at Basel. Not much was said of it, but I'm in love!! I had this dial on the TT DJII and really loved it. Doubt this one will have a 2 year waitlist to it either. They offer the dial on both smooth and fluted bezels as well as oyster or jubilee as well (4 options) a little torn on the oyster vs fluted option....Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
