- I bought this for my husband's birthday. It is a very attractive watch and is great for business or casual attire. It definately has the appearance of an expensive watch. We love it!

Maurice Lacroix mp6066-ys101-12g wrist watches news:
You know, this one...I gotta say, it was very nice. The black lacquer dial is absolutely gorgeous & the black bezel supplements it perfectly. Take the start black & add the bright red and it's absolutely great looking. I'll be looking forward to the non-LE version coming out. While it's all very nice, there is 2 complaints. First, the glare off the crystal if fierce. One of the worst glares I've seen, and it had an AR coating. Though the AR is underside only - no topcoat. makes me wonder what it would be like without any AR coating. And second, the applied logo & 'Omega" are virtually invisible against the black background. IMO a start white logo would have looked very nice. Especially as the hour markers are all pure white. As easy to fix as those 2 things are, the watch still looks like a winner. If you like pure, crisp black dials, this will be a watch for you.
There hasn't been an "Incoming" thread for a long time - am I to presume you've stopped buying?Anyhoo - I thought I'd share the arrival of a couple of my vintage grails; it's been a good month (so far!)First up was this 1960 Romanesque M in 14K with a 22 jewel 770 movement. Many of Hamilton's Romanesque models had a florentine finished case and in some examples, the pattern continued into the bracelet. They are all stunning.Image: M SpinaNext is a c1933 Langley with three piece case by Solidarity and 19 jewel 979F movement in solid 14k gold. Probably yellow - but not sure! Seller's image
I just came across a couple fun things this morning while having my coffee.First, Robert Jan over at Fratellowatches blog just put up a really good overview of 60yrs of the Speedmaster. It gives a great picture and brief description of the various iterations and how they came to be. The second item of note: Hodinkee will be live streaming at 7pm ET tonight with Omega. Here is a quote from their description of tonight's event-Quote:
I am interested in your comments and observations about these two platinum, manual wind PPs. I own a Rolex Yachtmaster Blue and want a PP to wear for business and formal occasions. I am a professional in early 50s. I am leaning towards the 5980P Gondolo due to dial face and rarity. I also like the story behind the Gondolo Club. Thanks,David
Does the 5167 on a bracelet lose its value more than a 5167 on a strap? I've noticed that even tough the bracelet is quite a bit more than the strap new, preowned there isn't much different in price. If you buy a preowned 5167 on a bracelet can you sell the bracelet and put it on a strap or will that hurt the overall value if the watch?I happen to prefer the strap more but I've come across a pretty good deal on a preowned bracelet but would want to sell the bracelet and put it on a strap. I'd love to hear everyones thoughts and opinions.
