Maurice Lacroix Pos 5 wrist watches news:
Appreciate some input from vintage Hamilton aficionados.Uncovered this watch model over the past weekend. It is an automatic Swiss 661 movement housed in a 10K gold filled case. While I understand that Hamilton's 'golden era' was around 1924-the WWII timeframe, this mid-1950s model is kind of interesting. The crown is very diminutive and when recessed, the watch almost looks like an old Accutron from a distance. When shaken, it still runs but I have no idea of its timekeeping accuracy to date. The watch came with a faux-alligator Kreisler leather strap which is kind of moldy and needs replacement. Being a 1950s era timepiece, the watch is somewhat smaller in diameter than today's larger offerings. I would like to get it serviced and rejuvenated as part of an ongoing collection/accumulation of older watches. Attached is a photo of this watch from another web source.i1029.photobucket/albums/...tten/K-407.jpgI also came across an old 1957 Timex Ladies Marlin/manual wind which also
I was almost asleep. You know, that perfect space where you can hear what's going on around you, but close enough that it's like a distant movie being played in the background. Saturday afternoon. House to myself and I was almost asleep.DING DONG!Dogs go nuts. I am immediately on my feet, praying this is not a neighbor coming to tell me the ice cream truck is coming.Nope. The dogs were right - postman!!!!!! "Sign here, sir."Done, now go away - I need a minute alone now...And so the excitement must be controlled as unpacking requires care. Musn't slash the box with a careless thrust. What's that inside the copiuos packing? The Magrette logo burnt into the wooden box with a slider top.More stay-safe packing to keep the little fellow safe.Wrapped inside this cloth is the newest member of the brood.Unlike in many instances, I don't mind filling in the paperwork here. There he is, sitting there snug in his pocket with a nice little rubber strap in easy reach to suit his moods.Check the d
Hey, I need to get a Navitimer Lookalike for this show I am going to in Manhattan, really long story...ANYWAY, I cant afford the real thing right now so I want the closest possible thing to a Breitling Navitimer for like less than 100 bucks or so. Any help is greatly appreciated! BTW, I hate gold and leather straps! Sorry guys!EDIT***I was looking at Trias watches from a German seller on ebay, and a few Adee Kayes, but I do not know much about them. Any help is greatly greatly appreciated!
hey folks - i've been lurking on this forum for a while now but thought of posting pics of the new leather strap i got for my PO....
HI, prior to the Christmas Holidays I posted a thread about the suitability as a Day Date as a daily wear. Inspired by the talking watches video with Jack Nickalaus I wanted to give it a try. I was asked by a few posters to report back after a month or so. So this is what I have learned.Firstly I have been wearing my 18238 about 95% of the time since before Christmas. I usually wear my Sub C on casual Fridays at work (but have worn the DD as well) and my Bluesy here and there. Over the last three months the DD has held up well. I have noticed no more scratches or marks then when I started. The big thing I have learned is that 36mm is supremely comfortable on my 7.25in wrist. I am seriously considering adding back a 116234 to my collection. The other thing I learned is, that as much as I could absolutely have the DD as a one and only, I really appreciate and enjoy having the options of the Subs. I am very fortunate to be in this position. Quite frankly I think the DD and the 114060 could
