Movado 0606873 wrist watches news:
You know that I have been economically deluded by the watch world when I hear that a watch costs around $35,000, only to think, "that sounds like a really good price." Not that I can afford it, I just wouldn't expect an 18k rose gold-cased Audemars Piguet watch with an in house chronograph movement to go for that "low" of a price. I must have luxo-fever. But for $35,000 you can't go too wrong with this beautiful chronograph version of Audemars Piguet's lovely Millenary watch. The sorta asymmetric is not off-centered as it might appear. Two oblong circles overlap to create that interesting look that Audemars Piguet perfected. Though, the chronograph version does actually have some off-centered dials. The standard Millenary watch uses the two circles for the minute or the hours. This version uses the outer circle cleverly as a tachymeter. It is not the most elegant application of a tachymeter scale, but it works. The dial has everything in the right place, though it does come across as th

HELSON%u00252BSkindiver%2B03.jpgI really love the Helson Skindiver for a whole host of reasons, but was wondering if it was my only option for a reliable, mostly period-correct workhorse diver in the vein of a Fifty Fathoms? I've seen a few designs from Prometheus (the Manta Ray) and MKII (like the Paradive and the Sea Fighter) but wasn't hugely blown away. Any suggestions? Maybe a NOS Seiko redux? Or should I have been more blown away by the aforementioned? Or is the Skindiver unique in that it's one of very few?
So i'm sure many of you remember last week I had purchased an AP Legacy and posted several pictures of it. Well, over the weekend I was only wearing it around the house and because of it's HUGE 48mm size, the ceramic octagonal crown was digging into my wrist and hurt because of the sharp point. I could'nt screw down the crown anymore to change the angle and if I tried to unscrewed it a bit to change the angle of the crown and to make it not be so uncomfortable, i feared water would get in it and didn't want to take such a big risk with such a $$ watch. Another negative about the watch is, the bullet proof strap was starting to frey a bit, and i could only imagine what it would look like after a couple of months... also, the strap isn't waterproof because of the leather underside of the strap, so I could never swim with it or shower or anything.. it would be just a once in a while watch which I already own in my collection.. I really loved it so much, but these were things that hit me w
