Single-handed watches aren't anything new, but from a modern standpoint, probably one of the most important brands to know about in regard to single-hand watches with contemporary designs is Botta Design, by German Klaus Botta. I believe it was 1986 that he first released his modern collection of single-handed "Uno" watches. In fact, according to Botta Design, it was Klaus Botta himself who produced the first ever wrist watch with a single-hand.Botta Design single-handed watches (as is the case with most) come in two forms. All of them have one hand, but some display the time in a 24 hour format, and some in a 12 hour format. The wearing experience between the two is very different. Visit to Hammy AD
Yesterday after lunch, the wife and I dropped by the only Hamilton AD in the immediate area for a look-see. We were the only customers and the young man who waited on us turned out to be a watch junkie like me. He eagerly hauled out every Hamilton they had, which didn't include the large Boulton I wanted to see in person, but some interesting pieces such as the Viewmatic, two Venturas (regular and chrono), a power reserve, etc. He said if I wanted, they would order a Boulton for me, and if I didn't like it Hamilton would take it back, no obligation. I may do that. The Hamiltons I saw in person are more impressive than in even good photos. This experience is why I greatly prefer to deal directly with an AD.

Hi all,When I purchased my Sub ND, decided it was about time to get the Omega serviced; the watch is 15 years old & has only been serviced the once in that time. I have had the following back from Omega via Goldsmiths and was wondering on you opinions to progress:THE WATCH REQUIRES A FULL SERVICE NEW KIT HANDS AND SEALING KIT TO PUT INTO FULL WORKING ORDER £310.00OMEGA HAVE ADVISED THAT THE WATCH HAS PRESENCE OF HEAVY SCRATCHES / IMPACT MARKS, THE CASE BACK IS SCRATCHED, THE CRYSTAL IS LIGHTLY MARKED, THE CROWN IS DAMAGED AND THE BRACELET IT SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR AND IS SCRATCHED. OPTIONAL WORK: NEW DIAL AS PRESENT ONE IS SCRATCHED / MARKED £105.00It almost doesn't read like my watch! Now I want to get it serviced, as the watch has less than 24hr power reserve & I can hear the weight moving inside as I move it. I'm considering to buy an orange PO,I love that watch and it look like a tough guy. Or is he not ??? I need another daily beater to switch with my Subby.
