Broken Omega Automatic: Is it worth fixing?
Hello, I am sort of a newbie when it comes to timepieces , so I'm obviously not going to be versed in timepieces at all, so I figured I'd ask a forum that might have a clue as to whether or not it's worth it to have my late grandfather's Omega Seamaster legitimately fixed.The main issue is that the knob has become separated from the stem, which has been "repaired" using superglue (Whilst it was being used by my dad when I was too little to inherit my watch) .Here is the watch as it currently is: The knob is sitting in acetone to get rid of the superglue, and I'm occasionally applying acetone to the outer part of the stem to try and removed superglue from it as well.IMG_1729.JPGIMG_1731.JPGP1370189445-1-X.jpgDial with the knob superglued to the "stem" (My dad's idea of how to remedy the problem)Other issues:When the stem is pulled out, the seconds hand keeps on going.When trying to set the watch the hands occasionally get stuck (Especially the minute hand.) A few questions about the Khaki King Scuba Automatic...
I'm currently throwing around the idea of selling my practically brand new Oris TT1 for a Hamilton King Scuba. I love the look of my Oris, but I'm just to afraid of wearing it around and messing it up, so i wear my other two automatics. The Hamilton seems to have about the same look (maybe even a little bit sharper, havent seen one in person). Anyways...What is the full bottom to top lug length? It looks like quite a big watch, and I have pretty small wrists, but my Oris pulls its big case look pretty gracefully. Is it pretty easy to change the strap on these? Can the metal/Rubber strap be purchased from Hamilton?And not to important, butDoes the arrow and circle on the seconds hand glow the whole hand? none of it? I can't seem to figure out if i want the all black with rubber, or with SSsheesh.Also, if anyone has any of their own pictures, feel free to post them!Thanks!

Differences between Hamiltons catalogue pictures
Interesting detail I think I can share with others. When I was looking through Tom's catalogues I thought that there was something strange about the roman Endicott dial. In the one of 1940 the Hamilton brand name is written as a straight line, in the one from 1941 it is more a curve. Funny isn't it? Why am I posting this, well maybe that brings also a bit light into how much one can trust the pictures and all the details shown in the catalogues of that Era.Pictures by Vintagehamiltons (Tom):Besides, Tom's blueprint of that particular dial shows the curved name:I would think that the one with the straight line is just some kind of interpretation of the artist who made the catalogue pic back in 1940/39. But then as someone else mentioned beforeyou can never know with Hamilton. I am also unsure if I not have seen one with the straight lined Hamilton in ebay during the last months. If so it could be original or the refinisher used as reference the catalogue from above.Maybe we can collect

Titanium Question...
I've got a question regarding titanium; it's something that I've just recently realized.Is it less susceptible to "desk diving" marks than stainless?My Oris and my now-departed Omega suffered from them easily. With my Breitling, I don't do anything different; wear it the same way I wore the others, sitting at my desk, etc. Yet, Insofar as I can tell, this thing marks up nowhere near as much as the Omega and the Oris.Is it my imagination, or is titanium, somehow, more resiliant to scuffs and such?
