After a few years of revisions and model interpretations of its original watch, Swiss SevenFriday is about to release its second model collection with the M1 and M2 watches which are due for release next month in June of 2014.The M1 and M2 are, of course, similar to the original "P" series SevenFriday watches in regard to the same 47mm wide cushion-shaped case along with overall look and feel. Rolex Engraving on the Side and Bezel Plastic Protection
Hi guystwo questions for the Rolex Experts.1) Since when Rolex started doing the engraving on the side of the watches I just got a SD M series Serial M156XXX and it does not have that engraving on the side, so I was wondering if the engraving is just in the plastic or actually in the side of the case.2) The plastic protector for the bezel.. is it meant to be used while you wear the watch or just when you put it in the box. I know this question will depend on the person wearing it.. but I can barely notice the plastic protection, so I started to wonder if it was made to be used while you wear the watch to protect the bezel from any scratches. I actually don't use it with the protection in it.Thanks.MVF

Tried on my first Patek
I tried on my first Patek Philippe last week. And all I can say is wow.. It was a 5135R, the one I've always looked at the closest in pictures. You know, this one.. (picture shamelessly snagged from Milos):I'm a huge moon-phase fan and I really like annual calendar models, but only the aperture style, not the sub-dial style. So naturally I was drawn to this model, but never had the opportunity to try one on. It actually made me feel like a different person once I strapped it onto my wrist. I was even offered a very nice discount, but sadly it's too much for right now.. However, it's definitely solidified that a Patek IS in my future - someday Until then I'll have to live that thru your guys pictures...

Starting with the Ω '46 caliber 30.10 reference 2500 around the house this morning......and switching to the AP '71 caliber 2120 reference 5279 for work.

Can this watch be saved?
I'll try to make this short, but it does require some backstory.My grandfather was a great guy, and loved a good bet. In 1960, he took a bet with a friend, for, you guessed it--the outcome of the Presidential election. The loser would have to buy the winner this Omega Seamaster, which they had both seen in the window of a local jeweler. Upon Kennedy's election, my grandfather received the watch and wore it in good health for many years.After he passed away, it was handed down to my father, who also wore it regularly. Unfortunately, the caseback began having problems--the gold was literally wearing away. Over the years he took it several times to a jeweler, who told him it had to do with the pH of his skin (no idea if this is true), and he (the jeweler) would fill the caseback with new gold on occasion.When my father passed away in the early 2000's, the watch came to me.
