Omega 231.10.30.20.06.001 wrist watches news:
Hey all,I have taken a hiatus from the collecting portion of my watch passion due to school and now after graduating last week a recent influx of graduation cash has allowed me to buy a time piece or two.Firstly, I just purchased Orient's Bambino watch this evening. I purchased it with the black leather strap, but would like to purchase a brown leather strap for it. I don't know any quality names when it comes to strap brands, so any opinions and direction regarding this would be great. Secondly, I am trying to decide between the Christopher Ward C5 Malvern MKII and the Junkers Bauhaus Automatic for my next purchase. As of right now the Junkers Bauhaus is edging out the C5 by a hair, but that is only because I'm an architecture major and have a great interest and respect for the Bauhaus school and most anything inspired by it. I came here for any notable differences in quality, opinions, and/or personal experiences with either of the watches. It's good to be back!Jon
Found a strap from JBW Watches with a pegged spring that allows me to pop off the straps in 1 second without any tools. It was on sale for $15 so how could I pass it up?
Just sharing some pics of my Mk II. Cheers!
Every brand will have lemons and occasional bad service experiences. That said, even ignoring the Internet, the people I talk to have universally slow experiences with PP service, and a higher rate of problems than I hear about other brands.I know probably 100 Rolex/AP/ALS/JLC owners in real life. Very few complaints overall. I know 10-12 Patek owners in real life, and nearly 100% complain about 8 months or longer for a standard service, watches going back 2-3 times before they give up and just sell them. I know one 9 figure net worth collector who sold all his PP and has completely sworn off the brand entirely.Am I living in some bizarro world with crazy bad luck, or is this the norm and TRF Patek owners just learn to live with it? Are people flipping watches so often they never have to deal with service? There are a number of Pateks I really like, but I'm not looking to spend 6 figures on watches to voluntarily sign up for frustration. Put me at ease or talk me out of PP, please.
Luckily they're more unattainable than unobtainium Or else I'd be ?16000 down....Only option is that you've gotta pay ?1000 deposit to get your name on the list and you'll be waiting 12-18 months .Phew. .... just ?1000 today then - I'll see what the future brings if I get there
