A public apology to Jake's Watch Blog
WTF Rolex Forum Members and Friends:I wanted to take this opportunity to apologize to Jake of Jake's Rolex Watch Blog (rolexwatchblog).Jake approached me some months ago asking for a link on The Rolex Reference Page, as well some general cooperation. Of course, I get several such requests all the time. When I took a look at his watch blog, I didn't see a lot of original content (at the time it had mostly celebrity shots wearing Rolex watches and catalog shots) or depth of information. I politely declined, thinking that perhaps Jake was a new Rolex owner that had decided to put up a blog that might be gone in a few months when his interests shifted in another direction. Boy, was I wrong. In the past few months Jake has filled his blog with incredibly in-depth content. Quite honestly, Jake has done amazingly in-depth research into previously untaped areas of Rolex history and lore, and published his findings for free on his blog. Questions about Rolex Yachtmaster Price????????
I found a Rolex Yachtmaster from the mid-90's that belonged to Reggie Jackson. It is in the original box, barely worn with all papers and stainless steel. Something like this in mint condition, what do you think it is worth?

Rolex 2009 Basel-Chicago Exclusive Viewing
The official Rolex AD in O__ B____, Illinois is having a special viewing of the Rolex 2009 Basel Launch Models next weekend. (9/26-27/09)(I do not know this forum's policy on an Official Rolex AD. Because they are not a sponsor, I will refrain from mentioning them by name and mask their location out of respect of our sponsors.)This may be a traveling trunk show type of event. Alternatively, it may be related to the Watchtime Magazine sponsored event on Tuesday Sept 29, 2009 in Chicago. (Jeff Kinston's traveling Basel review of new models.) I highly doubt this, as I went to this event two years ago and Rolex was NOT in attendance.If this is old information, I apologize. However, many local residents of Chicagoland may want to try to see these unique watches. Rolex and BMW Owners
An appreciation for quality extends to all aspects of our lives.JBH's thread on Montblanc got me thinking about automobiles.I also own a few Montblanc's, but I also own several BMW's and have seen pics of Steve's 7 series and JBH's 3 series. Who else on this forum shares a passion for fine engineering of the BMW persuasion?I think this would make for an interesting thread as to our tastes for watches juxtaposed against our tastes in cars.Non BMW owners are free to share their automobile passions as well for this thread.My particular passion is for the 1980's BMWs as evidenced below. I feel this vintage of BMW's had the iconic style that was their signature for so many years. In contrast, my Rolex preferences are split between vintage vs. current models. G-Shock vs Ironman
I have seen several people on here that hold the G-Shock in high regard, but haven't seen anything on the Timex Ironman? Is there a reason for this? Are they similar watches?
