Well I finally did it. I purchased my first Omega. I picked up a used Seamaster Pro and it arrived today. The watch was listed as "like new" condition and I'm tellin' ya' it could pass for new. It is absolutley beautiful. The electric blue dial really pops. It came with all the original packaging and the links that were removed. I had my jeweler put one link back in and I've been wearin' it ll day Can't seem to get this grin off my face either :DHere's a couple quick & dirty shots. Complete newbie - ive been offered this.
Hi folks.Ive tried to do some research but i figure the best thing is to ask people that know.I have absolutely no clue about watches but i am about to replace my old cheap thing with something nice. Anyway i mentioned this to a guy at work who told me he had an Omega Seamaster he would sell me for ¡ê100. Now i know a good Seamaster is worth more than that so im certain this isnt a genuine one, but i thought id do some digging anyway.I have attached some piccies, if you need to know anything ill let you know.I just want some opinions really.Cheers guys.Dan

Battery Replacement- Swiss Style
I often hear complaints that a customer leaves his watch for a battery and is called with an estimate for work that he doesn¡¯t anticipate. The following is an explanation of how the Swiss approach a battery replacement and the thinking behind it. Specific companies might have slightly different procedures or they might be done in a different order, but all are similar. I will outline the procedures and the thinking behind them.1- Clean the back. This is done so that no dirt will enter the watch when the back is removed.2-Remove the movement and set the case aside.3-Remove the old cell and check it. If the old cell is still good, it is an indication that there is another problem.4-Check the power consumption of the movement. This test (measurement in millionths of an amp) determines if the movement is drawing too much current. High readings indicate a problem with the circuit or maybe an obstruction. In either case, the new battery wouldn¡¯t last long and the movement may not even run.5-

Show me a watch with a well executed blue dial and money mysteriously flies out of my wallet. I purchased an Explorer about a week ago. My initial impression. The watch wears nice and thin. Is light and comfortable, the hands contrast the dial so is very easy to read at a glance. It is simple yet beautiful with the matte dial. The balance of polished to brushed steel is just right. The lume at night is very good. I think we'll get along just fine..
