On November 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues, Geneva, Christie’s will present 387 lots, including “A Connoisseur¡¯s Vision Part III”, which together with Parts I and II, represent the most important private Patek Philippe collection ever offered at auction, and the most expensive collection ever sold. The star of this sale is an exceptionally rare 18K pink-gold, two-crown worldtime wristwatch, ref. 2523, with 24 hour indication and blue enamel dial by Patek Philippe. Manufactured in 1953, Lot 114 was originally retailed in Milan in 1957, as confirmed by the accompanying Extract from the Archives. This is the 35.5mm “large version” of the reference, and only 14 examples are known to have come to auction. Swiss Hublot has its hands in a lot of things, ranging from sponsorships to limited edition watches that seem to celebrate other limited editions. We can't cover them all, but once in a while there is an image or story that we just have to share. It looks like Hublot is sponsoring an Exosuit for the European team that is continuing to dive and explore the region around where the Antikythera device was found. UPDATE: Hublot has (of course) released a limited edition watch called Hublot Oceanographic ref. EXO4000 731.QX.EXO14.If you recall, back in 2011 Hublot's genius designer Mathias Buttet recreated the ancient Greek calendar device into a wrist watch. Hands-On: The Peter Speake-Marin Bi-Tourbillon
Peter Speake-Marin is introducing a new member of the J Class collection this year and it’s called the Bi-Tourbillon. The watch is a technical tour de force, featuring a pair of vertically aligned tourbillons linked by a spring clutch system. The Bi-Tourbillon is a nod to the rich history that ties Peter Speake-Marin to the tourbillon, a complication that accompanied the first timepiece to bear his name (a pocket watch in 2000). We got our hands on the watch in Basel last month, and there’s a healthy amount of recognizable Speake-Marin style in the new watch, as well. 1 OF 2 The Bi-Tourbillon is reminiscent of the Vintage Tourbillon we saw from from Speake-Marin back in 2005. The two watches share similarly styled bridges made of German silver, and a baseplate with perlage and ruthenium plating serving as a backdrop on the dial side. Picked it up BNIB, latest P series.47mm 1950 case in all titanium, sapphire crystal front and back, 3 day in house movement....The watch feels just perfect on the wrist.My wife's words - that watch is so....you! 116000 Lume
Hi there.I've restrained myself from posting on here as the question that I'm about to ask potentially could have been answered many times over.This is my first post, so please spare me... I'm curious to know the lume colour on the 116000. Specifically the Blue 3-6-9 dial.I've googled it up.I've searched it on this forum.I've yet to see one that comes with the blue chromalight lume as mentioned by a seller whom I might be dealing with for this piece.Is there such a thing as a blue lume for this 116000 (3-6-9 blue dial)?Or is this a production thing?The blue lume only came up from such and such year to present.Or it never came with blue lume?Again, I do apologise for wasting your time reading.But I do greatly appreciate your input (pictorial evidence will be more than sufficient).THANKS AGAIN!
