Help with this Longines Quartz watch
Hi this is one of my first topics and I am stumped big time. I got this watch in a bag of scrap watches I pick up from the flea market one weekend. I have found many like it on the google search but not this exact one. I have no idea what it's worth or even its name other than Longines Quartz. Here is the general info I've acquired. On the case back it says and only this Stainless steel back base metal bezel with the Longines icon. Inside the case back it has and I'll quote "Case 8086-l960 9317469". On the movement is a serial 55131164. It is a 5 jewels L960.2 that is it I'll put the rest in pics. Hope I can get some answers as I can't even find this on Google lol. The Holy Grail of Dennison Trench Watch Cases??
Hey folks,I'm an avid trench watch collector specifically of Dennison cased walthams (being from the UK this should come as no surprise) and I believe I've recently acquired something extraordinaryily special, but I wanted to run it passed you guys before I get too excited over nothing.If my knowledge is correct Dennison cased trench watches dating from 1913 are pretty rare, but I believe I have a dennison trench watch case dating to 1912!! It has a double hinged back and hinged front bezel that I've never seen before on a sterling silver dennison trench case before. It also seems to have the factory gold crown! As you can see the hallmark 'n' assayed in Birmingham dates the case to 1912. Anyway enough of me rambling, take a look for yourselves and let me know what you think. Dating a vintage Omega
I read somewhere that if you send your vintage Omega to Bienne for a service they will return the watch with a report on date of build,sale date etc,is this true?if so, is it possible to get this info without sending the watch to Bienne,I have seen the Omega dates lists around but I beleive they could be out +/- a year or two,or are these date lists about as near as I'm likely to get to knowing the date of my watch? cheers
