Affordable Vintage: 1970 Omega Seamaster Chronometer ref 166.010
The Omega Seamaster line of watches has a long and illustrious history. Beginning in 1948 with the dress/sport model CK2518, to the iconic professional CK2913 diver, through multiple other iterations of dress/sport and professional dive models up to the innumerable current offerings. I won't even attempt a complete history, as that's the stuff that coffee table books are made of. However, there is one scarcer model in particular that I am quite fond of, and it is that one that we'll discuss today: The 1970 Omega Seamaster Chronometer Officially Certified reference 166.010.Over the decades, Omega made several different dress/sport model variations that included the "Chronometer" designation with accompanying chronometer rated movement. Most of the 1950's through 1970's chronometers made by Omega were in the top end dress watch Constellation line, but they did deign to make some of their Seamasters with these higher end movements. The model discussed today is housed in the reference 166.

Deep Blue opinions?
What is the general consensus about Deep Blue autos with Miyota movements?I ordered two Sea Ram autos with black ceramic bezels - one has a green dial the other black. Got them for $249 each . Was very tempted by the SunDiver III in red, but I'm not a fan of dedicated bracelets.

Update - good and... My warranty experience with Android
Upon receipt of an Android Caprice Skeleton Auto the hour and minute hands were not synchronized. When the hour hand was pointing directly at the hour, the minute hand was between the 8 and the 9. I was informed by Android that they would charge me $15 (in addition to paying the return shipping) to honor the warranty.So, on a watch that was about $130, it cost me an additional $25 or so to get them to honor the warranty. If there is any question as to the accuracy of my description, I have a private message from Wing himself giving me this info.I will leave it to you to determine whether you consider this good customer service.UPDATE , I received a replacement and they didn't charge me the $15. That is the god. The "..."?. This one, while better regulated or synchronized than the first is also off - this time the minute hand is at the 5 to 10 minute mark when the hour hand is dead on. More updates to follow. I really do not want to pay shipping again.

Seiko "Monster"
My interest in the Seiko Monster has been sparked over the last week. It seems like quite a bargain. Plus, who would complain about it's sleek looks? Anyway, after reading a slew of reviews I'm curious to know what Monster owners think of their watchers after an extended period of time. So, just that. After extensive daily use, do you like your Monster as much as you did they day you bought? We're talking opinions and bias galore here. I want to hear it all!Plus, I can't decide between the orange and the black. Ideally, I'd like the blue or yellow, but I doubt one will turn up; and if one did, I'm sure it would be outrageously priced. I do like the idea of the orange because it is both unique and proven to be exceptionally easy to read under water (although, I never find myself 200m below the surface at all). What do you think?
