Omega 123.50.27.60.08.001 wrist watches news:
hey guys, long time lurker to this forum but I finally decided to join! Anyways I'm looking at getting my first watch soon, a seamaster (2220.80.00) and here I live on an island so the dealer is saying 3800 CAD + 13% tax. So pretty expensive. I am travelling to the carribean the winter and wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages when buying from down there. Thanks,Brandon
Hi AllI was nearly ready to pull the trigger on a GV from a AD in South East Asia but felt the warranty card was printed wrongly.Am I right that the warranty card should state model number, serial number, bracelet number and the dial type. The one that I looked at stated Oyster Perpetual which i thought was strange as it didnt mention bracelet type
I can't decide which watches I like better. As of now I have 3 Hamilton electrics (Taurus, Savitar II and a Pacer), 2 Accutron Spaceviews, 1 Accutron quartz, 2 Bulova Computron LED's and 2 Pulsar LED's (not to mention Tudor, Rolex, Vostok, Benrus, Omega and Seiko). The Hamilton's have style and a look that no other company has. I was attracted for that reason. I just bought another 505 to put in my Savitar II that came from a Buick watch. I like the idea of mixing the 2. The stylish car company with the watch. The other thing I really like is the lightning bolt second hand that came stock on the mechanism. But now my question: how did you settle on collecting a particular brand or type of watch? I just can't bring myself to do that. I love it all too much.
Yesterday (I know, a day late and a dollar short), I read that Movado is selling the EBEL Calibre 137 to Ulysses Nardin. The stated rational is that Movado intends to focus EBEL and women's watches and does not plan on EBEL producing high end mechanical chronographs any longer. Is Movado trying to gut EBEL?1. Hasn't LVHM, the previous owner of EBEL, unsuccessfully tried to make EBEL a women's watch brand?2. Where does Movado intend to obtain movements for EBEL as SWATCH is alreadying discontinuing sale of mechanical movements and is soon to be discontinuing sale of quartz movements?3. Doesn't EBEL's watch making status stand primarily on the production of the Calibres 137 and 138?4. If Movado does not intend to gut (ie put out of business) EBEL, the only strategy I can see for Movado to exist as a watchmaker of any brands is for it to develop its own in house quartz movements.5. What are your thoughts?
Hi all.I'm trying to a do a little research for a short story I'm writing and would really appreciate your help.In the story, a chap who's madly in love tries to woo a girl with a watch he cannot afford. He takes out a lot of credit (around ¡ê5,000/$10,000 maybe a few thousand more) and gives it to a friend who says he is 'connected' and can get him a good deal on a timepiece. The watch his friend comes back with has to be too masculine for a girl. However, I don't really want a 'gents watch' as such. I'm not sure if there is a unisex timepiece in that price-range or even a ladies watch that would not be out of place on a man's wrist (or vice versa, if you see what I mean).Additionally, I would like it be be customised so that it can be seen as being unique from a few yards away. Is it possible to have it 'pimped' in such a fashion for the money I'm talking about? And what options are available? I'd like something a bit gaudy, if possible. The reaction of the girl has to be 'well, it look
