Ed White's Speedmaster 105.003 - The Final Known Journey
GuysIn my travels on the big www, I came across a post by Chuck Maddox, that great enthusiast of the Speedmaster who was written in September 2006 by Blake Bartosh, whose father was a collector of interesting material. Sent by Blake to Chuck were some scans from an auction catalog with information on Ed White's Speedy.All along, most of us had understood that NASA had given Ed White's Speedy which was recovered from the remains of Apollo 1 to his widow who in turn passed it onto their son. This would appear to be the last known journey of the watch. Ed White, Roger Chaffee and Gus Grissom have been fondly remembered on WTF and as their anniversary approaches in the coming month, the sadness of their passing illustrates in part, the random nature of human existence. Replacement Orbita cushions
Does Orbita sell replacement cushions? One of mine is uncoated; it's tattered, and might not last much longer. The coated ones have cracks in the finish, and are becoming unsightly. The winders are going strong, but the cushions are starting to show their age.I'd even be interested in generic replacements if they're a good fit.

904L VS AP Steel
I read that ROO steel is easily scratches in contrast to rolex 904L. Is this the case? Is the ROO a scratch magnet? I would appreciate the clarification because im now dreaming of maybe saving a little more and picking up a panda on those cool SS bracelets. I've been told AP is more fragile in general. Drop some knowledge

Service & Store or Just Store? - Omega Dynamic Chrono
Hey Folks,I've been organizing my safe and came across my first nice watch ever, given to me as a gift from my parents almost 20 years ago. This discontinued Omega Dynamic Chronograph has never been serviced and is definitely not functioning correctly.For starters, the timing is all over the place and chronograph will not reset properly.I stopped in the Omega Boutique a couple years ago and they told me it would be about $800 for the full service if I remember correctly. That seemed ludicrous to me, to invest that much money in a watch that's probably only worth a few hundred dollars more.So here's the thing, I never wear this watch. It's been in a safe one way or another for the past 10+ years. I of course care about it, and perhaps would wear it once and a while if it was functioning correctly. But for the most part this watch is stored in the safe 24/7.Here's my questions for you folks:Should I simply put the watch back in the safe since it's not really worn or should I service

Christmas present and a question
Here is the Christmas present, Aqua Terra 150m:but browsing the net, I saw what appears to be the same watch on a different strap:on this website which is in German. Google doesn't translate very well. Any ideas where this strap might be available? I'm loving the brown leather strap now, but you never know when you might want to switch things up.L
