On many occasions I've mentioned that I pretty much only feel comfortable wearing a quartz movement based watch when that movement offers functionality you can't find in a mechanical watch. Analog/digital watches such as this are a prime example. Offering the grace of analog time telling, the dials are enhanced with digital LCD screens that offer lots more functionality - as only an electronic watch can offer.New from Hamilton is this Khaki Flight Timer. Done in collaboration with the Air Zermatt helicopter rescue team in Switzerland, this is their new high-function pilot watch with a Swiss ETA quartz movement. You can see the Air Zermatt logo engraved on the caseback. Functionally this watch should do a lot even though I don't have a full spec sheet. The dial is broken up into a few negative LCD screen sections and the case has a crown along with three pushers. You can still read the time easily enough, and I like the large applied metal minute/hour markers. You'll of course see that

An interesting article about the SD vs. the SDDS
RJ from the blog site Fratello Watches posted an article with some interesting observations about the Sea-Dweller vs. the Deep Sea Sea-Dweller - you can read by clicking here. For me personally, I'm with him 100% - the watch just doesn't appeal to me. I respect it for it's engineering achievements, but beyond that, I don't find it attractive, nor is it practical for me to wear with my typical wardrobe. Here's a few shots of the SDDS I tried on in Tokyo:Where I don't necessarily agree with RJ is the value outlook for the watch. Yes, in the short term, the 16600 seems to be enjoying a bit of a bump. But consider how many fewer SDDS there are out there and how they're selling relative to the rest of the Rolex line. I wonder - do we have another future Cosmograph on our hands? Back in the 60's, dealers practically couldn't give the Cosmograph away - no one cared for them at all. So they sold in extremely small quantities, and well....the rest is history.What do you think? which one next - aquanaut or nautilus?
the DD has moved out to make space for another PP.but which one should take its spot?in consideration are: 5167R, 5164R, 5711R, 5711 white.i am leaning heavily toward the 5711R full bracelet. a certain symmetry in the collection of the 2 APs (SS/YG) + 2 PPs (SS/RG) by virtue of that addition.but will the 15450BA and 5711R be too overlapping - ie, when i feel like wearing a full gold piece, will these two be too redundant?
