Franck Muller 8005 HCC wrist watches news:
I recently wrote about the new for 2011 ultra thin RM 033 watch here. My hands-on review showed you the version of the RM 033 (RM033) with the Roman numeral dial. As promised, here is an exclusive look at the RM 033 with an Arabic numeral dial. The face is cleaned up and large Richard Mille style Arabic numerals are placed at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock placements. Personally, I think this is the best look for the RM 033. It will come in the same 45.7mm wide by 6.30mm thick case available in 18k red or white gold, as well as platinum. Inside the watch is a really great looking automatic movement with a micro rotor. According to Richard Mille this RM 033 with Arabic numeral dial will be available in November 2011. See the link to the previous article for more tech specs and pricing.
A elusive watch brand that I've been interested in for a while is Armand Nicolet. While they have the appearance for a mainstream watch, I have yet to happen upon these pieces, though that is likely to change soon. The brands have a few collections of watches and here is a piece from the S05 collection of sport pieces. What I find interesting about these watches is the use of an aggressive, sort of modern case, but with really traditional dials. Especially the dial style with the vintage looking yellowish orange Arabic hour numerals that looks at home on railroad pocket watches. You can see that there are some other styles available as well. While S05 watches come in chronograph forms, and even ones with Valjoux 7751 movements, I like this cleaner looking day-date model that has a Swiss? ETA 2834-2 automatic movement. The date is symmetrically placed in the lower mid section of the dial, and the fully spelled out day is placed in placed between 9 - 11 o'clock so as not?to impede legibil
