Omega 7374.31.00 wrist watches news:
As I get deeper into the vintage market, I notice watches with jewel counts from 5 all the way to 100!Now I do know that 17 jewels was the standard after around 1940 or so, and most watches have that amount, but is a 21 or 25 jewel movement of a higher quality than a 17 jewel? Does a higher jewel count translate to a higher quality?
...but this is actually the second watch forum I've joined (I won't name the other; I'm not sure what the rules are about mentioning a 'competing' forum by name )...looking around, I may have spotted a name or two here and there that look familiar. Anyway......I have always been one of those types who liked to know how things work. And who likes to try to fix them if they don't work. My primary interest along those lines has been electronics and I managed to teach myself as much as I could and actually become a reasonably proficient troubleshooting/repair technician. That was my line of work for most of the 35 years I was actively employed (with 8 years of active duty service in the USAF tucked in, from 1978 to 1986). The last ten years of that period I worked in the manufacturing arena as a debug technician working mostly with surface-mount PC boards, so I'm not exactly a stranger to working with VERY small items, using precision tools, under magnification. lets open the watch chest and see the latest additionI've been wanting this Casio G-Shock for awhile, I went ahead and got it a couple days ago.I just like itwhen I don't wear it, it stays with the Lime G-ShockI don't feel comfortable wearing an automatic during my work as a toolmaker, just too much movement happening, I like watches, tend to wear a more duarable watch while workingI like the analog/digital combinationthe black one looks sporty, matches the car I drivesimilar cases but different soulsthe black strap bites the wrist, almost uncomfortablely irritatingzoom in on these straps - maybe I will get used to the teeth that black g-shock hassays it's anti-magnetic - does that mean the whole thing is plastic?deep dial a pair of rugged time pieces I've had lots of good luck with this brand
Hello AllI am back in the Omega family and am very happy about it :)..I got the 2531.80, electric blue titanium on Ti Bond bracelet, automatic..it is a wonderful and very beautiful watch for sure...BUT, the real winner for me so far is its AWESOME light weight ..it is so light and comfortable, that I at times forget it is even there...actually, I wear my watch ALL the time, sleeping and all, so it is very important for me to have a light watch and yet a tough one, so this is the best solution I have come across as yet sorry it is almost just a tease to post without pics, but I sure will post pics soon too :Dregards,Asad
