I have been watching.....
This competition heating up with Hamilton and Omega .......and I have seen some good looking Omegas while they consult and figure out which watches to use for the contest ....but I haven't seen any particular Hamiltons that you all will be throwing into the ring ....I know for a fact there are some killer Hammies in the posession of this group ....so where are they ???? ......Thus far, it's business as usual around here....what watch for today kind of thing ......I wait with baited breath for the top of the breed to show up .....the only Hammie I have is that sweet little Bolton, but it is hardly in the category of the most beautiful Hamiltons .....

Of all the watches you have, which one is the most readable at a glance? Some give you everything else, like the date, moonphase, power reserve, and you know that the time is in there somewhere and you have to search for it.So, chronos and complicated dials obviously obscure the time, but of the 3 hands, which is best to read? My silver dial with white hands doesn't do the job well, white DJ clone with silver hands...no, even with the Orange Monster, as bold as it is, tends to be vague in some types of lighting. The PAM homage is also bold with readable numbers, but the hands are too similar to each other. I've found that for me, it comes back to the black divers watch with the silver mercedes hands and the round markers. The contrast is stark with both the colours and the shapes. When the two hands overlap, you can tell immediately which one is the hour and which is the minutes. I bought a watch 12 years ago from the duty free shop in bahrain airport. It was ?300 pound then. It is a JPS and says reference 161 on the back. I cannot find any information or pictures on the net about it. Its a stunner. Gold on the strap, digital readout with analogue hands too.Can anyone shed any light?

Some memory help please
While I have been a Rolex fan most of my adult life I have not followed them closely until the last few years. Heck I had never even heard of basel world. With that said, what year did Rolex go crazy? By that I mean the release of the jewel encrusted animal prints, the flowered dials and the like? Or did this happen over a few years?
