Omega 212.15.28.61.51.001 wrist watches news:
This one isn't small, simple, or elegant like the 36 mm Pilots Watch or the new Mark XVIII from IWC this year, but it features a very cool complication. For the first time, one may now set the time zone on a multi-time zone wristwatch quickly, just by pressing and turning the bezel of this new Timezoner Chronograph. Some of this technology existed before in the form of the Vogard World Timer, but this takes things quite a few steps further.A little background: the ability to set the time on a world time watch by turning the bezel to the name of a reference city was originally developed by Michael Vogt, whose company, Vogard, showed the technology at Baselworld in 2014, after a decade long development process. His design was purchased and further developed by IWC and is now the full production Timezoner Chronograph. 1 OF 3 First off, the watch is a column-wheel chronograph, with the movement made in-house by IWC (caliber 89760). As the year is almost finished, wanted to know if this year brought any of your grails...Please post pics, as I want to be drooling all day
Even though was bitten hard on the acquisition of my first AP - ROO RG 44mm a year backcourtesy of a sudden price drop. However till date no other brand has gotten me more intrigued. So here I am ready for next piece soon enough, which one would you go for. The first image isborrowed and from SIHH 2014 coverage. Have a great weekend.Cheers!Urooj
Hi Guys just wondering if anyone can help with more info on this watch. History:It was given as a gift by my Grandfather (since passed away) to my twin brother in the early 70's whilst visiting in Greece. Peter has not worn the watch for over 20 years, it's been sitting in a drawer. He says it runs perfectly. It was last serviced by Omega in the 90's. I have discovered it is referred to a Soccer dial (apparently because of the 45 min sub-dial, because that is the time for each hasl of a soccer match?). The bezel is rotated by the crown at the 10 o'clock position. I am not sure what the numbers on the bexzel are meant to represent. I would also love to get an idea of it's value? It appears to be in very good condition, and Peter still has all receipts and papers. It has never been polished! Omega_II.jpgomega.jpg
