A Week On The Wrist: The Panerai PAM 560 Luminor Base 8 Days Acciaio With The In-House 8 Day Caliber P.5000
This is the most stripped-down watch in Panerai’s current collection and it also represents the entry level price into the world of Panerai in-house movements. It’s actually a relatively new movement – the caliber P.5000 was introduced only two years ago and back in 2013, HODINKEE founder Ben Clymer took a look at the watch in which it was introduced: the PAM 510, which has a seconds sub-dial at the 9:00 position. In case you’re not up on Panerai history, the use of an 8 day movement with small seconds is an homage to that history; Panerai used 8-day movements by Angelus in some of its earliest watches (along with Rolex movements based on Cortebert ebauches). 1 OF 7 The PAM 560 is newer than the movement – we saw it for the first time at the 2014 edition of the SIHH, and the feeling we have is that it’s part of a general move across the board to make all Panerai watches powered by in-house movements. Planet ocean 9300 chrono
I bought a planet ocean 9300 chrono from an AD(authorized dealer). 4 days later I realized that the chrono function of my watch was not working, so I contacted OMEGA and the AD for a replacement because I got a defective watch that was not working since the begining. Neither OMEGA nor the AD were able to replace my watch. OMEGA fixed it (it took 2 months and 10 days) and returned back to me. In my personal opinion, OMEGA has great watches but they are selling defective watches and if you are unfortunate as I was, once you pay for it, there is nothing you can do to either return the watch or get a replacement. This is just my personal experience but what happened to me can also happen to you.I am willing to reply to any commentary any of the people of this forum might have. I also have all the evidence about what I posted in this thread. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I don't think that when you buy a luxury watch that cost 8100 US dollars, you need to get a d

Hey everyone, I'm new here and didn't know where to start, so figured I'd introduce myself. I've been interested in watches for quite a while. I Joined the forum so I can learn more about watches. Plus, i think its a pretty cool hobby! SO, as far as all of you are concerned, I'm the new, young, and awfully ignorant member on the forum to date. Feel free to use that information any which way you'd like! I recently decided to take the dive and make a few watch purchases. I bought an Invitca Chronograph on whim because i really liked how it looked. Swiss movt., sapphire dial lens.. Hope it holds up! Seems like it'll be a pretty good daily watch, but i've heard some complaints about Invicta. I also recently bought a Hamilton Khaki automatic. I fell in love with Hamilton a couple years back. I ended up inheriting a late 70's Omega. I have the paperwork, too, but still don't know a whole lot about it as google has failed me..-Lucas

Questions for Speedmaster Racing owners
Hi all,I've been thinking a lot about a new Speedmaster Racing recently - just waiting for the Omega boutique to get the one that I am interested in (grey dial, yellow highlights) in stock so I can see it in person before committing.The staff in the boutique have been stressing the quality of the newer movement in the Speedmaster Racing series, citing the longer manufacturer's warranty as an example of its robustness. That's all very well and good, but to be honest I expect any watch I'm buying new to be solid - and whether a 3 or 5 year warranty is offered doesn't really have much sway with me.What I would really like is to hear from some of you that already own one of these - how have you found it? The watch seemed thicker than I expected when I held it (thicker than any other speedy from the look of it), but on the wrist I didn't really notice it. Have you found that you accidentally hit the watch on things? Is it annoying sitting at desks? I'd love to know a bit more about these da
