I was Just speaking to Adam, and I have been thinking about starting a thread for some time about CLOCKS!Lots of American brands out there!Anyone have some to show?Wall, mantle, tall, short?Show em' off right here!I will dig around myself...Well, After digging around my parent's house, I found the coolest old clock! My mother bought it about 40 years ago. It hung between the elevators on the main floor of a very famous and classic NYC department store called "Best and Company." (For many many years.)The store is no longer there, but the old clock lives on.It is encased in a huge solid wood shell and It will take me some time to get to the guts of it.The face measures about 15" in circumference and is solid Marble with Brass numbers and hands.Pretty cool huh?

Watches out the back door, Hammys in the front door! I've got more Ham in my collection than you can find on a hogs butt! My collection is really changing as I am selling off a lot of watches I am not wearing and replacing them with Hamiltons. The number of watches is depleting which I am happy about. The latest to enter my collection is another Valjoux 7750 powered chrono....44mm case with great detail..If you are looking for lume, forget it. The onlly lume is the tips of the broad sword hands. And they're both lumed the same size! In the dark you cannot tell which is the hour and which is the minute hand Rubber strap is soft and fits very well. Also notice the checkered flag detail on the bottom of the chrono second hand...I had never noticed that before. Here's the pics -
A couple of weeks ago a storm blew through Cincinnati and a lot of trees were knocked over and branches strewn about. The nice older lady next door had a couple of trees fall over and I spent a few days cutting them up. Yesterday she gave me two Stuhrling Originals as gifts for helping her out. I had mentioned awhile back that I was collecting watches.I tried to say I didn't want any payment, but she said she had already bought them....Despite their reputation as as the finest Swiss Chinese watches around, they actually look really nice. They didn't have their name on the boxes, but a quick look on Amazon shows that the first model is called Artemis and it features a quartz movement with month, day, date, and moonphase subdials. It actually looks decently constructed, the dial work is nice, and of course, any watch with the month on it is a winner in my book And, believe it or not, the leather strap is very nicesoft and flexible. The other Stuhrling she gave me is the Soprano s
