A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing the new listings on eBay and I saw a watch that immediately caught my interest. Here is a picture:This was the only picture of the dial and bezel and there were only 2 other pictures of the band and caseback. I was pretty sure I knew what it was, and I immediately hit the "buy it now" before I could think about it. Then I waited for it to arrive, hoping I was right and hadn't wastey my money. When it did, I attempted to open the case and encountered resistance so I didn't even try again.I took it to my watch guy and he just confirmed for me today. It is a Hamilton Stanley (probably no surprise to some of you). The case is in amazing condition, the dial appears to be original, and (here is the best part) it contains its original 401 movement! The reason it was so difficult to open the case, he told me, is that it was full of sticky gook (he said the consistency of thick maple syrup). However, he also said while it will take some cleaning, he thinks

Hello all,I will be making Singapore a one day layover en route to other parts of asia (originally it was Bangkok...but the situation there isn't exactly friendly right now)any advice on what to do? things to see? places to eat (one very special dinner)? I will be staying at Marina Bay Sands (bucket list to stay there and swim in the pool)AP boutique is on my list. but anything else?

Hi everyoneJust a little update on my AP purchase. Finally, the watch made it home. It wasn't an easy one but David was once again able to source the impossible. He was able to source a NIB 15300 forgotten somewhere. it is an old G series, but NEW, the impossible to source these days.Lucky enough, it is with me now and WOW, this is a real gem! Beauty of it can't be seen through pictures. Only in the hands and in the flesh, it does reveal it's true value and attention to details. I can never thank enough David for pursuing the quest of finding a LNIB, but ended up finding a NIB, even better :)This isn't the best of the pictures but as I have a busy day ahead and really wanted to share my experience, here it is.Cheers everyone.

Very frustrated: My new 5270 has a sticking / loose Day aperture
Two nights ago, the Day aperture got stuck - I noticed it when I awoke in the morning yesterday. It didn't complete its move from FRI to SAT. Having read about recent Patek QC issues, I was aware others have had this problem as of late. I reset the watch and wore it yesterday, and watched it until just after midnight. The Day slowly moved from SAT to SUN, but it never made it as of 12:15am when I went to sleep. I woke to find the Day aperture as shown in the first three pictures below. Needless to say, I was very frustrated. This morning, I have been wearing the watch over next hour or so to see if that would do anything. While wearing it, I noticed the Day moved around slightly, as if it's loose, within the aperture. Depending on how I twist my wrist, the Day moves around. It doesn't happen with gentle, normal movements of the wrist, but rather if I twist it a little aggressively (I stress a little here so some don't think I'm slamming my wrist around). Mind you that is not how I norm
